President Donald Trump once again took to Twitter on Sunday to call on Robert Mueller to "STOP" with an investigation into possible collusion between Trump's 2016 presidential campaign and the Russians.While Trump has frequently called the investigation a "witch hunt," and asserts that the investigation hasn't found any collusion, a point Mueller's team can or cannot confirm, Trump is calling on the Department of Justice to investigate itself. Trump tweeted, "I hereby demand, and will do so officially tomorrow, that the Department of Justice look into whether or not the FBI/DOJ infiltrated or surveilled the Trump Campaign for Political Purposes - and if any such demands or requests were made by people within the Obama Administration!"Earlier in the week, the New York Times reported that the FBI used an informant who began making contact with the Trump campaign during the 2016 election cycle. The trees are considered a fire hazard on a popular fire evacuation route. Wildfire is a major concern in Poway. Twelve years ago, the Witch Creek Fire destroyed 90 homes. Four years earlier, driven by Santa Ana winds, the Cedar Fire roared through Poway destroying 53 homes.Adrian Burfield drives Twin Peaks every day and says a lot of trees need to come down.Adrian Burfield says, “It’s long overdue. Some of the trees are leaning. I just drive by there and see future problems. (KGTV) — A 27-acre parcel in Black Mountain Ranch once planned to be the site of a new middle school could instead turn into a Costco development.The Poway Unified School District board voted 4-0 on Thursday to pursue a long-term lease with Costco to transform the site into a mixed-use retail, restaurant, and housing complex, plus a warehouse. The district has twice declared the property at the northeast corner of Camino del Sur and Carmel Valley Road as surplus: first in 2012, and then reaffirmed in 2019. "This site has an extremely lucrative opportunity for the district and I, for one, don't see how we can turn this down," said board president Michelle O’Connor-Ratcliff. "Let Costco go figure out what the community will accept."The move, however, is being met with concern from parents in the district. Chasmine Grismer, a district parent who has lived near the Black Mountain Ranch site for a decade, expressed concern over traffic, the environment, wildfire evacuation, and demand on schools. "By bringing in an apartment complex, you're going to be bringing in families, families with children, who again will need space in schools. Our schools are already impacted," she said. President Donald Trump issued another round of pardons on Wednesday that included his former campaign manager and his son-in-law’s father.All told, Trump gave out 26 pardons on Wednesday on top of the 15 he issued on Tuesday.Notable pardons include former campaign manager Paul Manafort, former campaign adviser Roger Stone, and Charles Kushner, the father of his son-in-law Jared Kushner.Last year, Manafort was sentenced to 43 months in prison after being convicted on eight counts of tax and bank fraud. Manafort was released from federal prison earlier this year due to COVID-19 concerns.Stone, who previously had his sentence commuted by Trump, was convicted on witness tampering and obstruction charges stemming from Special Counsel Bob Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.Charles Kusnher was convicted in 2004 for tax evasion, illegal campaign contributions and witness tampering.
