They came to see a preview of "A Wrinkle in Time" and ended up meeting movie stars.Jimmy Kimmel surprised a group of moviegoers, who had been invited to a special screening of the upcoming Disney film, by bringing several Oscar attendees with him to the movie theater next door.Ansel Elgort, Mark Hamill, Emily Blunt, Lupita Nyong'o, Gal Gadot, Armie Hammer, Margot Robbie, Lin Manuel Miranda and Guillermo del Toro joined Kimmel and his sidekick Guillermo Rodriguez to the delight of the audience.Kimmel and "Wonder Woman" star Gadot stepped onto the movie theater's stage and the audience went wild."I have an announcement to make," Kimmel said. "You are live on the Oscars right now."The rest of the celebs then trailed in as the moviegoers lept from their seats. The stars brought along some snacks, including candy, a 6-foot submarine sandwich and hot dogs shot out of hot dog guns.Kimmel said it was a good thing too as, according to the host, there was a distinct smell of marijuana in the air."Do not aim the hot dogs at the vegetarians," Kimmel joked. The host explained the stunt to the audience."We were talking about our appreciation for people who go to the movies and those are you people, so we wanted to say thank you to the moviegoers," Kimmel said. 1272

These days we're always looking for ways to cut the cost of medical care. One idea being tested that could save time and money is called "Integrated Care," which allows for patients to virtually connect with physicians. It might seem like just another phone call, in just another office, but when Richard Hughes-Findley's daughter was having an allergic reaction, a specially-designated space at his job allowed for her to be helped quickly."My wife called me and talking about my daughter having a allergic reaction," Hughes-Findley said. "So normally how that worked is I would rush home and try to get there and then usually we go to urgent care of the E.R. and try to figure out what was going on."Instead he got on a computer his employers set up, and in minutes, was connected to a doctor."They confirmed that we need to give her the Benadryl and then monitor it because she only had one zone that was reacting," Hughes-Findley said. "And that if it exploded or got worse then we could give her the IP pen and then take her to the ER."Hughes-Findley's daughter wasn't seen by a doctor in person, but her issue was solved. All without him having to leave his job."Once it subsided I went back to work," Hughes-Findley said. With just a few steps, Hughes-Findley can go from work to the Kaiser Permanente Integrated Care Room that's been set up at his job. There, he can connect with a doctor by chat, phone, or even video. The doctor can help employees take their temperature and even their blood pressure. They have access to all of the patient's medical records, so they can give a complete assessment and even make follow up appointment.Dr. Pierre Onda with Kaiser Permanente helped develop the pilot program to test a new concept in health care and said he believes this is the future of health care. His team has found virtual care can often be more efficient than in person treatment."There is maybe 50 to 60 percent of the problems that people are coming in can be addressed through that venue," Dr. Onda said. "So certainly not all of the problems but a significant portion of those problems can be managed."Other factors? Cost and convenience. Americans pay more for in person visits, and Onda says making it easier to connect with you doctor, makes it easier for your doctor to provide excellent care."To me this is just a way where I can extend the care and that I already do more conveniently for my patients," Dr. Onda said. 2477

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (KGTV) -- After gunning down a group of workers standing at the door at Borderline Bar & Grill country music bar, Ian David Long paused a moment to post a chilling message on social media before resuming his killing spree."It's too bad I won't get to see all the illogical and pathetic reasons people will put in my mouth as to why I did it. Fact is I had no reason to do it, and I just thought... f***it, life is boring so why not?," Long posted.According to ABC News, citing law enforcement sources and documents, Long published his message then proceeded to shoot victims on the dance floor.  Three minutes later, the former United States Marine Corps machine gunner appeared to taunt the public in a follow-up post."I hope people call me insane (two smiley face emoji)...wouldn't that just be a big ball of irony? Yeah... I'm insane, but the only thing you people do after these shootings is 'hopes and prayers'... or 'keep you in my thoughts'... every time... and wonder why these keep happening... (two more smiley face emoji)," Long posted at 11:27 p.m Wednesday. It's unclear which social media platforms he used.Officials found a Glock .45-caliber handgun at the scene that was purchased legally. The weapon usually holds 10 rounds, plus one in the chamber, but the gunman used an extended magazine in this shooting, Ventura County Sheriff Geoff Dean said.Officials have not commented on whether mental illness was a factor in the massacre of the 12 people nor determined the shooter's motive. In April, officers responded to a disturbance at Long's home, and he was somewhat irate and acting irrationally, Dean said. A mental health specialist met with him and ultimately decided not to detain him under laws pertaining to his mental health.Dean said that a crisis team that visited Long felt the military veteran might be suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.Investigators are looking into whether the gunman believed his former girlfriend would be at the bar, ABC News reported.THOUSAND OAKS MASS SHOOTING: 2084
