SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — More than 32 years after a double murder in Ramona, the suspected shooter has been arrested.San Diego Sheriff's Department says the deadly shooting occurred just before midnight on June 7, 1987, at a Ramona apartment on B Street, just behind Main St. Witnesses told deputies a family was having a birthday party for their four-year-old daughter when one of the guests, 27-year-old Jose Angel Solorio, got into an argument with several people.Solorio left the party angry but returned to the apartment with a gun and shot three men, identified as German Aviles, Ventura Aviles, and Carlos Holgin. Homicide detectives located a family member in Texas who said she had contact with Solorio about two years prior and he was still in Mexico.FBI and U.S. Marshals Service continued working the case and in March 2019, Solorio was finally located and detained in Mexico.Friday, Solorio was extradited to San Diego and jailed on two counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder. "It's been nice having them there even though it's been such a short time. It's going to be a little difficult having them at home the whole day again."Poway Unified is one of the few school districts that are still offering modified in-person instruction, only to elementary students. But earlier this week, the district announced they would be recommending all students to revert to distance learning after winter break."My oldest will have the most difficult time with that because her assignments are more complex," Epps said.The decision comes after another surge in COVID-19 cases. Bob Mueller with the County Office of Education says 75% of K-12 students are now learning remotely, up from 68% last month."We are seeing the impact of gatherings for Thanksgiving," Mueller said. "It's likely that we will see the surge deepen for a time as we feel the impact of gatherings for the December holidays."School staff getting sick or having to quarantine are resulting in a serious staffing shortage."We are seeing unprecedented demand for substitutes," Mueller said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- One man was shot after a fight broke out near a house party in San Diego’s Jamacha-Lomita neighborhood late Saturday night. According to police, the shooting happened on the 1100 block of Koe Street at 11 p.m. Witnesses told police a fight broke out in the street near the house party before shots were fired. Police say the suspect left the scene while the victim was taken to Paradise Valley Hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The suspect was taken into custody after he was found at a nearby 7-Eleven with a gun in his car. At this time, the names of the suspect and victim haven’t been released. 645
