Strokes, which are typically associated with the elderly, are appearing more in people under 50 years old, according to Sharp Health Care. According to the American Heart Association, a stroke happens when a clot in a blood vessel stops blood from reaching the brain. Doctors believe the increase is due to higher rates of obesity and diabetes, and poor management of blood pressure and cholesterol levels. Risk factors include smoking, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure. A 41-year-old Sheboygan, Wisconsin mom faces multiple charges after she had her 12-year-old daughter driver her car after she was drinking.According to the criminal complaint, the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office was called to I-43 at County Road V on Sunday, March 18 around 5:30 p.m. local time — after a 911 caller reported a child driving a Chevy Equinox SUV on the freeway while sitting on her mother’s lap.The deputy caught up to the vehicle and performed a traffic stop. When the deputy approached the vehicle, he noted a strong smell of intoxicants coming from inside. He also saw the 12-year-old girl was in the back seat and the mother, Amanda Hauke, was behind the wheel.The mother initially denied that the girl was driving the car in her lap – but later admitted that it was true. The 12-year-old girl also told the deputy that she did this.During a field sobriety test, the mother admitted to drinking roughly four hours before she was pulled over. A preliminary breath test was performed and showed Hauke’s blood alcohol level was .126. She was then arrested. After she was arrested, Hauke then admitted to authorities she had consumed “a couple glasses of wine with a co-worker at a bar between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. that afternoon.”Hauke is charged with: 1306

A baboon that was being transported escaped its cage Monday afternoon and ran loose in San Antonio International Airport, officials said.An airport spokesman said the baboon was cornered in the baggage handling area of Terminal B.American Airlines released a statement, saying the baboon was being taken to an animal sanctuary and refuge in the San Antonio area."We are working closely with the San Antonio Aviation Department and officials from the San Antonio Zoo. A 66-year-old woman was arrested and preliminarily charged Wednesday with driving into protesters in Indiana.According to the Associated Press, the woman police arrested was Christi Bennett.Hundreds of people were rallying and protesting through Bloomington Monday, following an alleged racist attack at Lake Monroe where several men attacked and apparently attempted to lynch Vauhxx Booker, a Monroe County Human Rights commissioner.Police say an electric scooter had been left in the roadway and a red Toyota passenger car drove up to it. A male passenger then got out and threw the scooter out of the lane of travel. That's when police say a woman approached the vehicle and stood in front of it with her hands on the hood.The vehicle then began to accelerate, according to police, causing the woman to go up onto the hood of the car. A man then grabbed the car and clung to the side of it as it accelerated rapidly on Walnut Street. The man and woman remained on the vehicle until it turned abruptly onto eastbound 6th Street, throwing both people off, according to police.Police say the owner of the car was staying at a motel in Scottsburg, Indiana. They traveled to Scottsburg and detained the man and woman involved. The man was interviewed and released.
