BAY VILLAGE, Ohio — A priest in Bay Village says someone called police about a homeless person sleeping on a bench. It turns out it was actually a statue of Jesus.The sculpture was created by Timothy Schmalz, and depicts Jesus wrapped in a blanket and lying on a bench.Within 20 minutes of the sculpture's installation at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, police were called, according to the church's pastor, Alex Martin. He tweeted that an officer told him someone had called to report a homeless person sleeping on a park bench.Scripps station WEWS in Cleveland reached out to Bay Village police, who have not yet responded to a request for more information.According to the church's website, because Bay Village isn't impacted much by poverty, the statue is meant to remind residents how serious homelessness is in the world.The temporary installment will be on display until Dec. 1.The church is currently raising money to try and help the homeless. Bill Cosby's sentencing hearing is set for September 24 and 25, according to a court order from Judge Steven O'Neill.Cosby was found guilty last month of three counts of aggravated indecent assault for drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand at his home in a Philadelphia suburb in 2004.The 80-year-old comedian faces up to 10 years in prison on each count, although the actual sentence is likely to be much shorter."He was convicted of three counts of (indecent assault), so technically that would be up to 30 years," Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele said after the verdict. "However, we have to look at a merger of those counts to determine what the final maximum will be."Some legal experts have said they do not think Cosby will spend any time behind bars. His defense team has said it will appeal the guilty verdict, and it is possible that O'Neill will allow Cosby to remain on house arrest until that appeal is resolved.For now, Cosby is not permitted to leave his Pennsylvania home. If he does leave the state for another home, it would have to be arranged ahead of time, and he would have to wear a GPS monitoring device, the judge ruled.Janice Baker-Kinney, who testified that Cosby drugged and raped her in 1982, said he should spend time in prison."I believe that it's essential he spend time in jail, and it wouldn't break my heart to see him spend the rest of his life in jail," Baker-Kinney said after the verdict.In general, judges can take any number of factors into account when issuing a sentence. (AP) - A man who police say was run over with a lawn mower while trying to kill his son with a chainsaw has had to have his leg amputated.The Bristol Herald Courier reports that a warrant for 76-year-old Douglas Ferguson couldn't be served until Tuesday because of the severity of his injuries.According to a Sullivan County Sheriff's Office release, officers called to a home June 28 found Ferguson bleeding from his leg and head. A preliminary investigation indicated he had tried to attack his son with a running chainsaw while he son mowed the yard.Detectives say the father and son had an ongoing feud.Ferguson is charged with attempted second-degree murder and violating probation. It's unclear whether he has a lawyer to comment on his behalf. 773

Beginning in late October, Marriott International Inc., says they will lay off over 600 employees at its headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland.In an email to E.W. Scripps, a spokesman for the hotel chain said 673 employees would be laid off.The spokesman added that employees that were furloughed would be back at the end of September.In 2018, Marriott began construction on its new headquarters and hoped to relocate by early 2022, the company said in a press release.The company currently has over 3,500 employees working at its headquarters.According to the Baltimore Sun, the old building will be turned into a senior living center after Erickson Living bought it. 673
