From the moment Sherwin found out, every scent, every sniff with Qquappe took on new meaning."It took a minute to digest that because that's a big responsibility," Sherwin says. "You're taking on someones namesake like that and you want to be the best that you can be so you can uphold it. To the honor that they did."It meant even more when Sherwin met one of Lincoln Quappe's childhood friends, and sent pictures of Qquappe to his family."It hit home," Sherwin says. "It really hit's home with all the victims because it's not just a name that's there. You're actually talking to somebody that knew this person and grew up with them and knew all about them."While Qquappe might not understand the significance of his name, Sherwin says he embodies the same desire to protect and serve as his namesake."He's such a people lover," Sherwin says. "He loves children. He loves his job."And working alongside Qquappe, with everything he and his name represent, makes Sherwin love hers even more."Does it give you a sense of pride?" TORONTO, Canada (KGTV) -- Canadian law enforcement officials have released disturbing surveillance footage showing a masked suspect posing as a delivery man firing a crossbow into a woman.The video, which was captured Nov. 7, 2018 but released this week, shows the suspect approaching the 44-year-old victim's porch holding a large cardboard box. The suspect rings the doorbell, exchanges words with the victim, then fires an arrow into her chest, leaving her with life-threatening injuries. The suspect then fled the scene in a dark-colored vehicle parked nearby, police said."After a brief conversation, the suspect shot the victim with an arrow using a crossbow that was concealed inside of the box," Peel Regional Police said.Investigators said the attack was premeditated, targeted, and isolated "based on the conversation that occurred between the victim and the suspect." No further details about the conversation were disclosed.Police said the suspect used an arrow "designed to hunt large game such as moose and deer and inflict the maximum amount of damage possible."Officers are seeking the public's help identifying the suspect in the attempted murder case. The mother of a 5-year-old boy who was allegedly murdered by his father has now also been arrested on a charge of child neglect. According to an affidavit, she was also at the home when the boy was killed. Joseph Ray Daniels was arrested and charged with one count of criminal homicide in the disappearance of his son, Joe Clyde. Court records revealed that the elder Daniels allegedly beat the young boy to death before disposing his body in a rural location.   Officials announced Monday night that Joe Clyde’s mother, 27-year-old Krystal Daniels, was also arrested.According to an affidavit, Krystal Daniels was home at the time her husband allegedly murdered their child, Joe Clyde and knew he disposed of the body.She “failed to report the abuse and resulting homicide” of the boy, the affidavit added. Krystal Daniels also allegedly "failed to report injuries, abuse and/or homicide, despite multiple opportunities."She’s scheduled to appear in court on Monday. 1030
