Vaccine maker Pfizer says it’s already in regular communication with President-elect Joe Biden's transition team as part of ongoing efforts to keep all interested parties updated on its coronavirus vaccine and its distribution.Spokeswoman Sharon Castillo says, “There is no room for politics in this process.”Last Sunday, Biden chief of staff Ron Klain said the transition team planned to meet with Pfizer and other vaccine makers, as President Donald Trump continues to stall the formal transition process to a new administration.Castillo said Wednesday that Pfizer maintains ongoing communication with the Trump administration, governors and leading lawmakers of both political parties in Congress. The Biden team is part of that effort.Castillo says Pfizer is "communicating with both sides" during the transition.There’s no word yet on a formal meeting between Biden and the pharmaceutical chiefs. 909

VENICE, Florida — Six dolphins were found dead on beaches in Sarasota County in the past 24 hours."The fact that it's starting to impact our dolphins makes us even more nervous about what's to come," said Rebeccah Hazelkorn, senior biologist at Mote Marine. Venice Police Marine Patrol found two deceased dolphins on Tuesday, another two on Wednesday around 8 a.m. and then two more around 2:30 p.m. "Dolphins are much faster-moving animals. They have been able to detect it and swim out of it. Turtles are actually pretty good at detecting red tide and avoiding it. It's just where the animals are going and how bad the bloom is and how fast it gets into their system," said Hazelkorn. Mote Marine Aquarium's Stranding Investigations Program says it recovered those dolphins. Those deceased dolphins were discovered in several locations in Sarasota County including one found in the Intracoastal Waterway near Snake Island in Venice and another located on Caspersen Beach.We spoke with neighbors who found two of the dolphins stranded on Casey Key in Nokomis. "Its fin was up. I didn't know whether or not it was a shark or even a small whale. As I got closer, I realized it was a dolphin," said resident Jeanne May.The aquarium says three of the dolphins are males, the other three are females.Mote staff will conduct necropsies on the animals in Sarasota to investigate what happened to them. They were all reportedly found moderately to severely decomposed, which makes it difficult to examine and collect samples for analysis.Mote did not say whether or not red tide played a role in their deaths, but it has been impacting marine life on the Florida Gulf Coast this summer. 1757

UPDATE: San Diego Police reported Monday morning that Rafol was safe and with his family.ALLIED GARDENS (CNS) - San Diego police were today asking the public for help locating a man known to have a mental condition who was reported missing.Benjamin Rafol, 26, was last seen at about 10:45 p.m. Saturday when he left on foot from the Verge apartment complex at 6850 Mission Gorge Road, according to the San Diego Police Department.Rafol has mental issues including schizophrenia and psychosis, said SDPD Lt. Dan Sullivan.Rafol is not from the area and does not have a cell phone or a car.He is described as a Filipino male, 5 feet-8 inches tall and 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark gray Volcom t-shirt, light gray pants, black Nike shoes and a black Hurley baseball hat. 793

Tyler Walker is a self-described people person, which is a good thing because he spends most days working one-on-one taking pictures, specifically headshots, of people.“For me, headshots are a way to get people confidence, show them their value. I love doing that one-on-one,” he said.Walker runs KC PRO Headshots out of a studio in the West Bottoms neighborhood of Kansas City, Missouri.Wednesday may be one of the busiest days in his studio’s history. Hundreds of photographers across the United States are donating their time Wednesday in order to take headshots of 10,000 people who lost their jobs due to COVID-19 and are looking for a new one.“It’s good to know that I’m doing something that made a real difference in a person’s life,” Walker said.The work-based social media site LinkedIn said profiles with professional headshots get 14 times the number of views compared to profiles without a picture.Walker said a good headshot is helpful in any job application.As a people person, he knows people are struggling because of the coronavirus.
