While Democrats are projected to take control of the US House, the party hoped that a blue wave would include winning a number of major gubernatorial seats. But in two larger states, Republican candidates hung on and won in Florida and Ohio. The only county with outstanding votes remaining is the Democratic stronghold of Fulton County, which includes the city of Atlanta. If Kemp falls below the 50-percent threshold, the race will go to a runoff. Kemp has come under fire from Abrams' campaign for administering the election as secretary of state while running for governor. Abrams' campaign added that they expect that there are still nearly 45,000 uncounted votes in Democratic-leaning counties from paper ballots.In Iowa, Republican Kim Reynolds, who was previously the lieutenant governor of the state, defeated Democrat Fred Hubbell in a tight race. Although the results were disappointing for Democrats in Florida in Ohio, the Democrats have turned over at least four governor's seats on Tuesday. In Kansas, Democrat Laura Kelly is projected to win the seat there. Congresswoman Michelle Lujan Grisham was elected to New Mexico's governor seat. J.B. Pritzker, a first-time candidate and venture capitalist, won the governor's seat in Illinois. They live along the border of Nigeria and Cameroon, in western Africa.The Wildlife Conservation Society captured images of the Cross River gorillas in Nigeria’s Mbe Mountains in May and June. Their camera traps have only captured images of Cross River gorillas a handful of times since being set up in 2012. Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, two of the most important states in this year’s presidential election, are still waiting on a large number of ballots, and voters are running out of time to return them to election officials.As of Friday morning, election officials in Wisconsin were still awaiting 200,000 mail-in ballots, which must be received by Tuesday evening in order to be counted in this year’s presidential election.By comparison, the presidential race in election was decided by 23,000 votes in 2016.Earlier this week, the Supreme Court denied Democrats who asked for ballots that are postmarked on time but not received by Election Night to be counted. Election officials in Wisconsin say that mail delivery could take up to one week, so for those who have yet to return a ballot, they should do so at a county clerk’s office.“The absentee by mail deadlines in law don’t correspond with the amount of time it may take to receive and return your ballot by mail,” said Meagan Wolfe, administrator for the Wisconsin Elections Commission. “That is why the Wisconsin Elections Commission since the start of the pandemic earlier this year has been urging voters who wish to vote absentee by mail to request them as soon as possible.”In Pennsylvania, the state has mailed out 3 million ballots to voters, said Secretary of State Kathy Boockvar. Of the 3 million, some 27% were yet to be returned. Boockvar is recommending voters in Pennsylvania utilize drop boxes throughout the state in order to have their vote tabulated.The Pennsylvania Supreme Court extended the deadline for the state to receive ballots to November 6. Republicans appealed to the US Supreme Court, but the high court refused to overturn the state ruling.There are also questions about how long it will take in Pennsylvania to tabulate mail-in votes. Boockvar is urging counties to begin counting on the morning of Election Day, which is the earliest by law officials can begin counting."We are directly reaching out to the counties to explain why it matters to get started with pre-canvassing on Election Day, even if they can only do part of it," Boockvar said. "The overwhelming majority of counties are already planning to start pre-canvassing mail ballots the moment they can. When cruise lines begin sailing again, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has some guidance. The health agency issued their “framework for resuming safe and responsible cruise ship” operations Friday, ahead of the no-sail order expiring Saturday.The no-sail order, which originally began in April, prohibits cruise ships from carrying 250 passengers in waters subject to US jurisdiction.The CDC said it has identified at least 3,689 coronavirus-related illnesses, and 41 associated deaths, connected to cruise ships. Although the CDC cautions these figures are likely an underestimate.The framework urges a phased approach, and applies to ships that have the capacity to carry at least 250 passengers in waters subject to U.S. jurisdiction.“A phased approach is necessary because of the continued spread of the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide, risk of resurgence in countries that have suppressed transmission, ongoing concerns related to restarting of cruising internationally, and need for additional time for the cruise industry to test the effectiveness of measures to control potential COVID-19 transmission on board cruise ships with passengers without burdening public health,” a statement from the CDC reads.During the beginning, cruise line operators will have to demonstrate adherence to testing, quarantine and isolation plans, as well as social distancing requirements for passengers and crew members.The CDC says they will help by “establishing a laboratory team dedicated to cruise ships to provide information and oversight of COVID-19 testing,” updating instructions and creating a system to track ship status and passenger cases.Meanwhile, cruise lines will need to build out the capacity and ability to test crew and passengers on a regular basis.In their framework, the CDC says there may be simulated, or mock, voyages with volunteers to test cruise ship operators’ ability to apply COVID-19 mitigation measures.Although the no-sail order will be lifted, Carnival, Royal Caribbean and other cruise lines have already cancelled sailings until 2021. 2083

Pizza Hut is banking on its customers to say, "Cold beer."Pizza Hut announced on Wednesday that beer delivery will be available at 100 of its Arizona and California locations. The company said beer delivery is part of a nationwide pilot program. The beer will be stored in special coolers to keep it cold during delivery. Coors Light, Blue Moon and Miller High Life will be among the offerings. Customers who order a six-pack in some Arizona markets will have their delivery fee waived. "Nothing complements an oven-hot pizza like an ice-cold beer," said Zipporah Allen, CMO, Pizza Hut. "In addition to our extensive delivery network, many Pizza Hut restaurants are already licensed to serve and distribute beer, without third party services, additional fees, or extended wait times.
