(KGTV) — Bar patrons foiled a robbery Saturday by rushing the accused gunman and holding him until deputies arrived.Patrons at the Red Eye Saloon at 1448 South Mission Rd. in Fallbrook were in the bar's parking lot around 2 a.m. when a man pulled a gun on them and demanded their wallets and cell phones, according to the San Diego Sheriff's Department.The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Fidel Moreno, fired one shot in the air, witnesses told deputies.MAP: Track crime happening in your neighborhoodFearing for their safety, the group rushed Moreno and tackled him, according to deputies, and held him down until deputies got there.A 9mm pistol loaded with a 16 round magazine, with one casing missing, were found at the scene, deputies said. ESCONDIDO (CNS) - A 31-year-old man was jailed Tuesday on suspicion of seriously injuring another man with a hatchet during a fight at an Escondido transit center, police said. Dispatchers received a call around 9:40 p.m. Monday from a person who reported that two men were fighting at the Escondido Transit Center on West Valley Parkway, west of Centre City Parkway, Escondido police Sgt. Mike Graesser said. Officers responded to the scene and found both men near the transit center suffering from serious injuries, Graesser said. ESPN is expected to cut at least another 100 employees after Thanksgiving, marking the company's third round of layoffs in the last three years, Sports Illustrated reported on Thursday. According to SI, the layoffs are expected to include several anchors from ESPN's longest-running program "SportsCenter." The layoffs are also expected to include other employees such as producers, executives and other staffers, SI reported. The layoffs to end 2017 come just seven months after ESPN laid off nearly 100 reporters from its roster.
