LANZHOU, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) -- Inspectors had found poisonous chemical in the Sanlu infant formula produced by one of its partner producers in northwest China's Gansu Province, an official said on Sunday.     Two out of the 12 samples randomly selected from the Sanlu milk powder produced by the Haoniu Dairy Co., Ltd. in Jiuquan City had tested positive for melamine, said Xian Hui, vice-governor of Gansu.     "The products of Haoniu have been sealed up," he said.     The test was conducted after the Sanlu Group, a leading Chinese dairy producer based in northern Hebei Province, admitted that it had found some of its baby milk powder products were contaminated with melamine, a chemical raw material strictly forbidden by the country to be used in food processing.     As of Saturday, a total of 432 babies throughout the nation have been sickened with kidney stones after drinking the contaminated milk powder.     Haoniu was founded in 2002 with the registered capital of 51 million yuan (7.45 million U.S. dollars). Its production was in line with the Sanlu standard and its products use the Sanlu trademark.     As of Saturday night, Gansu has reported 102 cases of infant kidney stone caused by the Sanlu milk powder. Two babies have died, Xian said.     The province has so far seized altogether 164,000 packs of Sanlu milk powder.

BEIJING, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) -- The infant milk powder produced by most companies in China was safe according to the nationwide check results following the Sanlu baby formula scam, the country's State Council departments said on Tuesday.     The State Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said it had tested 491 batches of baby milk powder produced by all the 109 companies in the country in a special inspection move. In other samples, the range was from 0.09 mg to 619 mg per kilogram. JIUQUAN, Gansu, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- The crew of China's Shenzhou-7 space mission is scheduled to meet the press at 17:30 on Wednesday.     In addition, the headquarters of China's third manned space mission will hold another press conference at 14:30 Wednesday.     The crew, who will conduct the first Chinese space walk, is waiting for a launch window at Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwestern Gansu Province.     Depending on weather, the launch is scheduled between Sept. 25 and 30. The spaceship has been finished docking with the rocket recently.    The Shenzhou-7 spacecraft will send three Chinese astronauts who will make a historical spacewalk.     Six Chinese astronauts are ready for the mission, three pilots who will finally be aboard and three substitutes.     However neither the military or the mission's headquarters has officially released their identities, even though many local websites had reported various stories on six favorites.     According to the headquarters' release, three pilots and three substitutes said they were fully confident to successfully accomplish the mission.     After three hours of tests and safety examinations in the last rehearsal on Monday, the mission has been given the green light.     Scientists working for the mission said on Tuesday that the carrier rocket of the spacecraft was ready to be fueled, bringing the launch to the countdown status.
