He asked officials to practice the idea of innovation, coordination, green development, opening up and sharing, all of which were highlighted in the CPC Central Committee's Proposal on Formulating the Thirteenth Five-year Plan (2016-2020).

To achieve that goal, Xi raised four proposals, including strengthening communication and coordination on macroeconomic policies; promoting reform and innovation to enhance growth potential; building an open world economy to bring out vigor in international trade and investment; and implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development to inject strong impetus into equitable and inclusive development.

They also decided to enhance exchanges and cooperation among local governments, and encourage sister-city exchanges in the region.

Earlier on Oct. 28, the Red Cross Society of China (RCSC) had also donated 100,000 dollars to Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) for the earthquake affected people.

In his speech, Xi also called for efforts to boost the openness of the Asia-Pacific economy and uphold the multilateral trade regime.
