SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Lifeguards Thursday rescued a 17-year-old girl who fell while hiking at Blacks Beach near Torrey Pines.Lifeguards say the teen was hiking with two other teenagers near Box Canyon about 1:30 p.m. when she fell at least 12 feet into a creek bed.A San Diego Fire-Rescue helicopter flew her to safety. Lifeguards helped the girl's companions walk down to the beach.The girl injured her leg and possibly her head. She was taken to Scripps Hospital in La Jolla.Lifeguards said three other people were rescued about the same time, including one person who started climbing down the cliff and became too scared to go up or down.Watch video from the scene in the player below:  711

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Local supporters of both Joe Biden and Donald Trump were watching the election vote count closely throughout Friday.Ellen Nash, who heads the San Diego chapter of the Black American Association of Califorina, a minority advocacy group, put up her Biden/Harris yard sign about a month ago.During the election season, she helped organize a voter registration campaign. Since election night, it's been a constant case of the nerves."Incredibly excited, praying night and day," said Nash.Her eyes have been glued to the television and coverage of the vote count. Throughout Friday, her candidate edged closer to being declared the winner."I will feel relieved that the trauma is over. I'm speaking as a black woman who has been under significant trauma the last four years, in terms of some of the language and behavior of the leader of the free world. Hopeful change is coming," said Nash.There is no questioning her dislike of President Trump, but on this day, she is focused on the country’s future."I believe Biden can bring this country together. I believe he can help us heal as a nation," said Nash.It's a different opinion for local Trump supporter, Blake Marnell.During the campaign, Marnell garnered national attention for wearing a brick wall suit, illustrating his support of President Trump’s border security policy. Trump even called him up on stage, as Marnell attended some 15 rallies where the president appeared."He has the right to make these legal moves. He shouldn't be conceding ... mainstream media can do anything they want in terms of calling an election. That doesn’t make it so," said Marnell.Marnell backs Trump's vow to press on with recount and lawsuits involving his claims of voting fraud. After Trump spoke Thursday, some criticized him for alleging fraud but providing no evidence."It would be irresponsible to produce evidence of fraud in a press conference. The vote count is not ideal, but I'm still hopeful," said Marnell.Marnell plans to attend a weekend Trump rally in Phoenix. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Kaiser Permamente employees in San Diego voted to join a nationwide strike against the healthcare giant starting Oct. 14. More than 4,000 members of OPEIU Local 30 supported the action, a union spokesperson said. Workers say they want to “protect middle-class jobs with wages and benefits that can support families.” Hundreds of positions would be affected, including x-ray, pharmacy, and surgical technicians, phlebotomists, optometrists, and housekeepers. “We believe the only way to ensure our patients get the best care is to take this step,” said Robert Sparrow, an x-ray technician. “Our goal is to get Kaiser to stop committing unfair labor practices and get back on track as the best place to work and get care. There is no reason for Kaiser to let a strike happen when it has the resources to invest in patients, communities and workers.” Picket lines will be established at Kaiser Permanente hospitals, medical office buildings, and other facilities in six states and Washington, D.C. Kaiser Permanente Chairman and CEO Bernard J. Tyson issued a statement which reads: “While the Kaiser Permanente management team was actively engaged in negotiations at the bargaining table, SEIU-UHW released a strike announcement on 9/16 – an overt effort to gain leverage in bargaining. “This has been an ongoing pattern during this entire process with SEIU-UHW, as they believe that an aggressive approach such as using negative corporate campaigning and threats of strike is the way to get a better offer than what our other unions have received. “We are in this situation because of the aggressive approach of SEIU-UHW leadership, but our approach remains the same: we are committed to offering a package that’s aligned with all of our other unions that keeps our employees among the best paid in wages and benefits in the industry. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Infrastructure improvements will halt Coaster and Amtrak rail service this weekend in San Diego County.During the March 3 - 4 closures, neither Amtrak or Metrolink will be available to commuters in Oceanside, according to North County Transit District (NCTD). Connecting bus service will require an Amtrak reservation, however.There will be no connecting bus service for Coaster commuters, though passengers can use Breeze Route 101 or MTS connecting service, NCTD says.10NEWS TRAFFIC CONDITIONSCoaster and Amtrak service will be canceled on March 10 - 11 as well due to an emergency exercise. The exercise will be held at the Carlsbad Poinsettia Coaster Station from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Those in the immediate area should expect to see emergency vehicles.On the Friday following each closure, southbound Amtrak Rail 2 Rail trains A792 and A796, scheduled to depart Oceanside at 10:05 p.m. and 12:01 a.m., will complete their trips to Santa Fe Depot, but Amtrak train A590 will be canceled.The Monday following each closure, rail service will re-open, though trains may be delayed up to fifteen minutes.For future closure information, visit NCTD's website. 1196
