Brewer said, Fildey "abused a position of trust to brazenly steal company assets, treating GoFormz Inc. as his own private slush fund."Prosecutors say Fildey obtained loans -- supposedly for the company -- then kept the funds for himself, paid for personal expenditures on company credit cards, received cash advances for himself on company credit cards and took money directly from the company's bank account.A U.S. Attorney's Office statement announcing the plea cited examples that included a 6,250 loan he obtained for the company, which he immediately wired from the firm's bank account to his personal bank account. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer and City Councilman Chris Ward announced the start of construction Friday on dedicated infrastructure for cyclists and scooter riders in downtown San Diego.Faulconer and Ward's news conference marked the beginning of phase one of the Downtown Mobility Plan, roughly two and a half years after the City Council unanimously approved it. Once complete, the plan calls for the addition of about nine miles of cycle track through downtown -- bike lanes with a barrier to protect cyclists from vehicle traffic."As we encourage people to get out of their cars more, we need to build transportation networks that provide safe paths of travel for everyone," Faulconer said. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The San Diego region's unemployment rate declined to 9% in September, a half-percent drop from the previous month, according to figures released Friday by the state Employment Development Department.According to the EDD, total non-farm employment in San Diego County increased by 11,700 jobs month-over-month -- from 1,372,900 to 1,384,600 -- while farm employment remained unchanged at 9,600.The unemployment rate at this time last year was 2.9%.
