President Donald Trump's campaign said Tuesday it has filed for arbitration, accusing Omarosa Manigault Newman, the former campaign aide and White House official, of breaching a 2016 nondisclosure agreement with the campaign. The move is the first legal action the Trump campaign has taken since Manigault Newman published a tell-all book about her time as a Trump campaign adviser and senior White House official."Donald J. Trump for President, Inc. has filed an arbitration against Omarosa Manigault Newman, with the American Arbitration Association in New York City, for breach of her 2016 confidentiality agreement with the Trump Campaign," a Trump campaign official said in a statement to CNN.Manigault Newman embarked in recent days on a publicity tour to promote her newly released book, "Unhinged," in which she reveals private conversations during her time on the campaign and in the White House. She has also released several audio recordings of conversations she had with Trump and campaign aides.Trump has slammed Manigault Newman as a "low-life" and called her a "dog" amid the allegations she has leveled, including claiming that she heard an audio recording in which Trump says the N-word, a racial epithet. 1229
President Trump may be finding pockets of support from inside the very state he's suing. It's because a growing number of local governments are considering joining the administration's fight against California's new sanctuary laws. One of those laws prohibits state and local authorities from notifying federal immigration when they arrest an undocumented immigrant. There are exceptions for serious and violent crimes. Escondido Mayor Sam Abed opposes the sanctuary laws, and hopes his City Council will do the same and file a legal brief in support of the federal suit. The council meets April 4. "We have deported so many gang members because of our coordination with ice, and we'd like to continue to do that," abed said. "It's a public safety issue, pure and simple." 788

President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President Mike Pence are set to receive the COVID-19 vaccine soon.According to two transition officials familiar with the matter, Biden will receive the vaccine publicly as early as next week. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they weren't authorized to discuss it publicly. The White House says Pence and his wife, Karen, will receive the vaccine publicly on Friday at 8 a.m. ETAccording to USA Today, Surgeon General Jerome Adams will also be vaccinated on Friday.Biden said on Tuesday that Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s top infectious-disease expert, advised him to get the vaccine “sooner than later.” Biden has said that he wants to keep front-line health care workers and vulnerable people as the top priority as the vaccine is rolled out throughout the country. But he’s also noted the importance of him getting the vaccine publicly to build confidence among Americans to get vaccinated.Biden said, “I don’t want to get ahead of the line, but I want to make sure we demonstrate to the American people that it is safe to take." 1096
President Donald Trump’s supporters have seized on a photo circulating on Twitter since late Sunday that shows Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden not wearing a mask while he talks to a campaign staffer on a plane. Why wasn’t Biden, who has made a point to put on a facial covering throughout the campaign, wearing a mask? Because the photo was taken in November 2019, before the first case of the new coronavirus was reported, and months before global health officials began urging people to wear masks in order to stop the spread of the virus. 559
