SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Students at National University tried to absorb a seismic announcement Tuesday: a 0-million gift from philanthropist T. Denny Sanford. The donation is the largest ever for any school in the county. The San Diego-based school will be renamed Sanford National University beginning in July."Putting National University on the national scene. That’s what it is," said Sanford at an announcement with school officials. School officials hope the gift will allow them to double the student population within a few years and climb the national rankings by investing in digital technology, lower-priced classes, and marketing. They're also hoping to slash the annual tuition in half, down to the ,000 to ,000 range. No timetable for the tuition drop was given."Amazing. People struggling with the debt. Won't be as big a burden. It's a significant amount," said nursing student Kyra Storkerson. 920

"Attention all shoppers, associates and management... nobody should work here — ever.”That is what a 17-year-old former Walmart associate said over the intercom at a Walmart location in Grande Prairie in Alberta last week. Jackson Racicot recorded the moment he quit his job after more than a year with Walmart. He then shared the video with thousands on Facebook, prompting more than 1,000 shares and comments. Racicot told the Edmonton Journal that he had another job lined up before announcing to everyone in the store that he was quitting. He cited mistreatment of employees as to why he left the job. "Our managers will make promises and never keep them," Racicot told everyone in the store. "Management will try to save money every step of the way including cutting benefits and a full-time associate down to part-time even though he worked 40 plus hours a week."“I’ve been a loyal employee here for over a year and a half, and I’m sick of all the bulls----, bogus write-ups, and my job,” he added over the intercom. In a statement to the Edmonton Journal, Walmart said, "We are aware of the video circulating online and are disappointed by this incident. Respect for all individuals including our associates and customers is a core value at Walmart. We are looking into this matter and will address it internally as required.”Note: The video contains strong language 1426

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Several homes were evacuated and a bomb squad called to the scene after hundreds of rounds of ammo were discovered inside a Mira Mesa home Wednesday night. Authorities were called to the home on Avenida Del Gato and Valdosta Ave between 4 and 5 p.m. According to San Diego Police, a man was cleaning his deceased relative’s home when he found the ammo. Also discovered inside the home were mortar rounds and rocket rounds. Military ordnance experts, FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives were all called to the home. So far, authorities say they’re about 75 percent through the investigation. All the items discovered inside the home are so far inert, Jeff Ring, Commander of the Bomb Squad told 10News. The San Diego Fire-Rescue Department says six nearby homes had to be evacuated. A total of 14 adults and one child who live nearby had to leave. At this time, it’s unclear when residents will be allowed to return. 975
