The Macomb County Sheriff's Office says the stranger danger incident happened Wednesday around 7 a.m.The girl was walking to her school bus stop when she was approached by a newer model, black Chevy, four-door sedan. The windows of the vehicle were heavily tinted. Authorities say a male suspect in the vehicle asked the girl to "get in the car." She responded by asking what the password is. The suspect said he didn't know, so the 12-year-old ran away from the vehicle. The girl and her mother have set a password if the mother were to ever have someone pick the girl up at any location. After the girl ran away, the suspect eventually drove from the area. The girl then continued to the bus and told a school resource officer about the incident when she arrived at school.The girl was uninjured, and another student witnessed the incident and corroborated what the girl told police. U.S. gasoline prices are becoming a real pain for motorists, particularly in the west.A survey of more than 5,000 gas stations conducted by AAA shows that the average price for a gallon of regular gas is now .75, up 11% in the last month. And the average price is already above a gallon in six western states: California, Hawaii, Washington, Oregon, Nevada and Alaska.Four-dollar gas is the average in a couple of California counties. Many others are within a few cents of that mark, including San Francisco, where the average price is .98. The statewide average in California is up 20 cents a gallon, or 5%, to .83 in just the last week.The Midwest has also been hit by price spikes. The average price in Chicago has jumped 46 cents a gallon, or 16%, to .27 in the last month.Unplanned refinery maintenance at several locations is responsible for the sudden, and uneven, increases across the nation, said Tom Kloza, head of energy analysis for the Oil Price Information Service. Western states are particularly vulnerable to supply disruptions because they have less refining capacity than other locations across the United States."The western half of the country hasn't added any refining capacity this century," said Kloza. "We harvest the icicles on site, and they are carefully plucked placed on top of the towers upside down,” Nelson says. “The artificial rain at night helps it grow and increase until it becomes a thick wall of ice, and they create arches, caverns and tunnels." It takes about a month to build on this acre lot. "I really love to see how excited people get," Nelson says. The magic of the ice castle can’t last forever.
