A pharmaceutical company is recalling dozens of medications for infants and young children that are used to treat ailments like bed wetting, chicken pox and colic.According to the FDA, King Bio voluntarily issued a recall for the medication due to a possible microbial contamination.The products were sold nationwide between August 2017 and July 2018.Customers currently in possession of affected product should discontinue its use immediately and contact King Bio by email or call the company at 866-298-2740. The company also says it is notifying distributors and customers by letter.If children have experienced any issues with taking the medication, their guardians should contact a physician.So far, King Bio says it has not received any reports of injury or illness related to the recall.Find out more about the affected products below. 870

A new study out of Boston University has found depression in adults and teenagers has more than tripled since the pandemic started.According to researchers, symptoms of depression among Americans has increased from 8.5 percent pre-pandemic to 27.8 percent. It is a precipitous rise in an illness that can create a loss of enthusiasm, feelings of hopelessness, changes in diet, and changes in sleep patterns.“I feel like everyone is understanding what it’s like this year,” said Shane Weeks, a 26-year-old from Maine, who says he has been battling depression since he was 10. “Even people I feel like who have never faced depression or anxiety before are facing it now.”According to the American Psychiatric Association, symptoms of depression must last at least two weeks and must represent a change in one’s previous level of functioning for an official diagnosis.“I buy stuff so it’ll come in the mail, just so I have something to look forward to, said Weeks.“It’s just a total feeling of zero energy. [There is] hopelessness, utter hopelessness, and I don’t want to feel this way.”The study’s author, Catherine Ettman, says for many who are dealing with depression, understanding that others feel similarly can be empowering and comforting since symptoms of depression can feel isolating.“For those who may be feeling depressed during this time you are not alone,” she said. “I think this [study’s findings] calls for a doubling down in our social investment in supporting people through difficult economic times.”Researchers at BU found income can be a predictor of pandemic-induced depression. They found those with lower incomes were twice as likely to develop depressive symptoms, while those with less than ,000 in their savings were one and a half times more likely to experience symptoms of depression.“It’s just so hard not to be pessimistic because there’s rarely any good news,” said Weeks.For Weeks, that doubling down in mental health assistance is significant. He says in normal times he would find solace in international travel, as he’s been able to visit six continents in the last decade. A newlywed couple died early Sunday after the helicopter carrying them from their wedding crashed in Uvalde, Texas.Will Byler and Bailee Ackerman Byler were both seniors at Sam Houston State University and news of their deaths was first reported by the university's independent student newspaper -- The Houstonian."It is with deepest sadness that we announce the tragic passing of two Bearkats Will Byler (Agriculture Engineering senior) and Bailee Ackerman Byler (Agricultural Communication senior) in a helicopter accident departing their wedding. A police department in Arkansas has apologized for sharing a misleading warning about the danger of opioids on its Facebook page."The post about the fentanyl was sent so me from another officer at another Department," the Leachville Police Department wrote on Facebook Thursday. "I simply shared it. I’m should have checked into it further before I posted it. Sorry for the confusion."The Leachville Police Department warned residents to wipe down shopping carts before using them to protect against the dangers of fentanyl, a powerful opioid. "Fentanyl or something like that still on their hands and they touch that cart handle and then you do, it can get into your system," the department originally posted on Facebook. "Scary but worth taking the time to clean the handle. All you'd have to do is rub your nose or touch your child's mouth. I never even considered this possibility. A Mississippi school district has apologized and a high school band director has been suspended after the band staged a halftime skit that depicted police being held at gunpoint.The controversial skit came as the Forest Hill High School band from Jackson performed Friday during a football game against Brookhaven High School to the south.
