(KGTV) - The search for a young East San Diego County man will be profiled this month by missing persons investigator John Walsh. Twenty-year-old Elijah Runningbear Diaz, a member of the Barona Tribe, was last seen Aug. 29, 2015 in El Cajon. His mother dropped him off at his home on Joey Lane about 10 p.m. Diaz’ mother reported him missing the next day - the day his cell phone was turned off. There was no further activity on his bank account or social media. Diaz has type one diabetes and, at the time of his disappearance, had a serious foot injury that required him to use crutches. He also has a bear claw tattoo on his inner left forearm. El Cajon Police joined Diaz’ friends and relatives for a door-to-door search near his home in 2015. (KGTV) — White House chief of staff John Kelly will leave his position within the Trump Administration by the end of the year, President Donald Trump told reporters on Saturday afternoon.CNN on Friday reported that Kelly was expected to announce his departure in the coming days."John Kelly will be leaving ... I don't know if I can say retiring, but he's a great guy," Trump told a pool of reporters outside the White House before departing to Pennsylvania for the Army-Navy football game. (KGTV) — President-elect Joe Biden is set to select California Attorney General Xavier Becerra to lead the pandemic response as Health and Human Services secretary.According to Associated Press sources, Becerra will be nominated to lead the department, which will require confirmation. If confirmed, he will be the first Latino to lead the department.The HHS is a -trillion-plus agency with 80,000 employees and oversees several issues including drugs and vaccines, medical research, and health insurance programs. During his time as AG, Becerra has been an advocate of the Affordable Care Act.Biden has been under increasing pressure to expand racial and ideological diversity in his Cabinet and other top jobs, the AP reported. Congressman Duncan Hunter resigned after pleading guilty to a felony count of campaign fraud in December. "For two years now, we've had a member of Congress who didn't serve on any committees, and that's really where you help your district," said John Dadian, a political analyst who lives in Hunter's district. A 10News-Union-Tribune scientific poll released Monday is shedding light on who may have the best chance of taking over the seat.
