He said the agency received additional funding for Operation Safety Net from Washington. Two sisters, 15-year-old Yalonda Bates and 17-year-old Leantwana Bates, have been missing since April 18. Leantwana is described as standing 5 feet, 3 inches tall and weighing 135 pounds, while Yalonda is described as standing 5 feet, 3 inches tall and weighing 100 pounds. It happened at the 76 gas station on Detroit's east side. Detroit police said when the clerk saw Joshua Lewis, 30, allegedly stealing from a coin machine, he picked up an AK-47 and fired a single shot through the safety glass. Lewis was killed by the round that pierced through the safety glass. "A quarter machine. My son got killed over a quarter machine," Lewis said. The gas station clerk, who is the owner's brother, was arrested. Prosecutors are reviewing a warrant request in the case. Family members and others dispute the allegation that Joshua was stealing from the machine. They said he was playing a video game that malfunctioned and he was shaking the machine in an attempt to get his money back. "Whatever he did, he didn't deserve to die," said Emily Rippy, Joshua's mother. He says that rumor hasn't historically been true, until now."The Republican party is gonna be sending mail-in voter ballot applications to its voters, but on the other hand, the top of its ticket is saying that you can't trust the mail-in voting," Bolar said.This year, votes received by mail will likely be more skewed favoring democrats, Bolar said. The professor explaining that mostly has to do with the rhetoric coming from the White House for months, denouncing the mail-in vote system's integrity."You have tremendous potential for fraud and abuse," President Donald Trump said about mail-voting this summer.Bolar says some Republicans, heading President Trump's words, may avoid casting their vote via mail. Meanwhile, Democrats are expected to be turning out in higher numbers. Democrats have cast about 51% of the early votes, according to a predictive analysis by the data firm TargetSmart, which uses voter data to project turnout trends. CLEVELAND, Ohio – An 11-year-old boy was shot and killed while attending a birthday party in Cleveland on Saturday. Authorities say the shooting occurred at a residence in the city’s Hough neighborhood around 9:30 p.m. EMS transported the child, later identified as Tyshaun Taylor, to Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The resident of the apartment told police that she had allowed her 16-year-old son to host a birthday party. She said she had left to go to a nearby store when the shooting happened.
