Colleges are trying to figure out how students can safely get back to school, as more schools are choosing to go online only for the fall.For colleges that will have students on-campus, a big question is how testing could work. This week, Maryland's state universities are some of the latest to say they will test students if they can't prove they had a negative test within 14 days of arriving on-campusResearchers from Yale, Harvard and Massachusetts General Hospital have a model of what they say needs to happen for campuses to reopen.It includes testing students every two days along with strict social distancing measures“There are still schools out there who think they can get by with symptom-based monitoring,” said David Paltiel of Yale Public Health. “That is waiting until a student develops symptoms before springing into action. We have run simulations and scenarios over and over again. We have yet to find a single one where that is good enough.”Experts believe screening frequency is more important than test accuracy. But they say daily testing could lead to false positives. They think testing every two days will cost 0 per student per semester.“Any school that cannot see how it's going to reasonably implement a program of frequent screening alongside a program of social distancing really has to ask itself if it has any business reopening,” Paltiel said.Vassar College President Elizabeth Bradley looked at how the model would work for them. She wrote in the journal JAMA they would have a controllable number of infections, even if they only tested students every four weeks.They would also use social distancing, masks, and contact tracing. (KGTV) San Diego Police Department is investigating a car meet-up that turned into brief reckless driving exhibition in Clairemont.Viewer video shows several cars doing donuts and burnouts for hundreds of spectators at in major shopping center off Balboa Ave from Friday night.The drivers almost hit people trying to film them and almost crash into fences on the property.Those who attended say the meet-up was organized through private social media accounts.“It’s scary because it starts right next to you and it happens with like a flick of a switch,” said one gearhead who wants to remain anonymous to protect his identity.An SDPD officer is shown responding to the incident in the video and appears to be harassed by the crowd.“People were throwing trash at him and there was a lot of middle fingers that were thrown up,” said another car enthusiast who was the event, “I thought the cop was going to get attacked.”The anonymous gearheads say what happened Friday night is not indicative of car culture and they were upset with how people treated the officer.“I’ve been to multiple meets where… we get to look at some nice cars but then there’s meet’s like this that get out a hand and then cause a horrible image for us,” said the anonymous attendee.SDPD has not clarified if any arrests were made during the incident. 1375

CLAREMORE, Okla. -- A Black Lives Matter group in Oklahoma group is calling a symbol at a museum outside of Tulsa offensive and asking for it to be removed. The cornerstone of the Claremore Museum of History contains a swastika, but some historians argue that the symbol was included before the rise of Nazi Germany.“It was the cornerstone in Clem Van Rogers livery stable," Will Rogers Memorial Museum Public Relations Director Pat Reeder said. “They sold it for 0 and in 1936 they started this building and Will had already died and they decided to name it for him."It's a piece of history that's been around for more than 100 years and sits on the south side of the building at the Claremore Museum of History. "I think it’s offensive to me that someone would think that a cornerstone would be so hate-filled you’d have to remove it," Reeder said. The symbol on top of the cornerstone is under fire. “For Native Americans, it was very much life, earth and sun that’s what it meant to them," Reeder said.Reeder remembers it as a patch on soldiers uniforms of the 45th division in World War I, who were mostly from Oklahoma. “I couldn’t find anything that called it a name," she said. "I think it was given the name when Hitler decided he needed a symbol.” Reverend Mareo Johnson, a Black Lives Matter activist in Tulsa, Oklahoma, wants the cornerstone removed. “When you see it now it’s a public representation of hate and regardless of what it meant then it’s how people see it now," he said. Reverend Johnson says the meaning has changed overtime and wants any sign of hate removed. “The swastika sign is the main point and everything else is fine it’s that symbol that is connected to hate," he said. He wants the country to move forward. “I don’t believe that it will be too hard of a process because it’s very understandable," Rev. Johnson sad. Reeder argues that the monument has largely flown under the radar in the decades since it's been installed.Rev.
