San Diego (KGTV)- A music teacher at Grossmont High School reached out to the community after students were in need of guitars for the upcoming school year. The students will be practicing distance learning.Music teacher Jeremy Cook says the support has been overwhelming.“The response from the community has been absolutely amazing. I’ve met so many people. I’ve driven across the county picking up the guitars,” says Cooke.Cooke has received 117 guitars for students to practice.“Last year we had upwards of 120 guitar students total,” says Cooke. “There’s a hope to be able to offer guitars to students who aren’t able to take the class.”A couple of weeks ago, Cooke went to pick up a donation from a woman named Pam Anderson in Mission Hills.“I took it back to my car and popped it open. I was flabbergasted at what was inside. It was a 1969 Fender Telecaster.”These guitars range from ,000 to ,000. Cooke says he had to let Anderson know its value.“She said that she appreciated the honesty, and she still wanted to donate the guitar to the school,” says Cooke. “It was her husband’s who passed away. She said she knew he would want the same thing.”The guitar will be used for student performances and in the newly renovated music room when students are allowed back on campus.Cooke says he appreciates all of the donations. As a thank you to Anderson, the teacher has set up a GoFund Me page to help her during the pandemic.Cooke says there is still a need for guitars for the upcoming school year. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - With the March 2020 Presidential Primary approaching, the San Diego Registrar of Voters is urging everyone to make sure they are registered properly."This one election is the most complex elections for administrators like ourselves and voters that are out there," says Registrar Michael Vu.With six political parties holding presidential primaries, plus the dozens of overlapping state and local district elections, Vu expects to create more than 12,000 unique versions of the ballot. Rules on who can vote in each party make it even more complicated.In December, Vu's office sent out more than 500,000 mailers to voters to make sure they know the options.Anyone registered with a specific party will only be allowed to vote in that party's primary. Republicans will vote for the Republican candidates, Democrats for Democrats and so on.But, right now more then 30 percent of registered voters in San Diego are listed as "No-Party Preference."For those people, they can choose to vote in the primary for American Independent, Democrat, or Libertarian parties. They cannot vote in the Republican, Green, or Peace and Freedom parties."It makes it a little more confusing," says Vu. "Something that voters need to know what political party status they are in. And if it’s different from the presidential candidates they want to vote for, they need to register or re-register now."To help voters navigate their options, the Registrar has set up a website where people can get all the information they need.The deadline to choose a party, or to choose which primary you want to vote in, is January 6."If you’re a non-partisan voter, now is the time to act," says Vu. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police Tuesday identified the two men shot and killed near Mountain View Park Sunday.Police say 33-year-old Tony Jackson and 37-year-old Robert Brown were shot near South 40th Street and Ocean View Boulevard. Both men were taken to the hospital where they later died.According to police, the victims were standing near the Mountain View Community Center when they were shot around 1:20 p.m. Sunday.RELATED: Two dead after Mountain View shooting  The suspect was described only as a black man wearing dark clothing. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - U.S. Congressman Duncan Hunter (R-CA) and his wife Margaret were indicted by a federal grand jury in San Diego Tuesday on suspicion of converting more than 0,000 in campaign funds to pay for extravagant vacations and other personal expenses.The Office of the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of California said the 48-page indictment includes instances from 2009 through 2016 in which the Hunters reportedly used campaign money illegally. The couple is also accused of filing false campaign finance records with the Federal Election Commission.Hunter spoke to 10News about the initial investigation in February 2018 during an appearance on 10News at 6 a.m."There was wrong campaign spending, but it was not done by me.
