HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Comedian Bill Cosby has won the right to fight his 2018 sexual assault conviction before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. The 82-year-old Cosby has been imprisoned in suburban Philadelphia for nearly two years after a jury convicted him of drugging and sexually assaulting a woman in 2004. He's serving a three- to 10-year sentence. The Supreme Court has agreed to review two aspects of the case that Cosby's lawyers challenge. The first involves the judge's decision to let prosecutors call five other accusers. And the court will examine Cosby's argument that he had an agreement with a former prosecutor that he'd never be charged. 663

Gap has apologized for a map of China on one of its T-shirts that upset internet users in the country.A user on Chinese social network Weibo posted photos of a T-shirt they said was on sale at a Gap store in Canada, complaining that its design left out Taiwan and islands claimed by Beijing in the South China Sea.The US clothing brand is the latest international company to find itself in hot water over Chinese territorial issues. The Chinese government in Beijing considers self-governed Taiwan to be an integral part of its territory and comes down hard on any suggestions to the contrary. China also claims sovereignty over a large swathe of territory in the South China Sea, including areas claimed by other countries like Vietnam and the Philippines.Gap responded to the criticism on Weibo by announcing it had pulled the T-shirts from the Chinese market and destroyed them."Gap Inc. respects China's sovereignty and territorial integrity. We've learned that a Gap brand T-shirt sold in some overseas markets failed to reflect the correct map of China in the design," the company said in a statement posted late Monday on Weibo."We sincerely apologize for this unintentional error," it added. "We're currently conducting an internal inspection."The company didn't say whether the product would be withdrawn from sale in other markets.A series of other big Western brands have apologized over missteps on Chinese territorial issues.Chinese authorities in January blocked Marriott's websites and apps for a week after the company listed Tibet, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan as separate countries in emails and apps. Marriott issued an apology, saying it respects and supports China's sovereignty and territorial integrity.US airline Delta and European clothing retailer Zara also came under fire over similar issues on their websites in China. Both companies subsequently apologized.Beijing has also been pressuring international companies to change their websites outside China to fit its views, prompting a clash with the US government.Earlier this month, the White House described as "Orwellian nonsense" Chinese demands that more than 30 international airlines, including some US carriers, alter their websites to remove any information that could suggest that Taiwan, Hong Kong or Macau are not part of China.  2330

The Crew Dragon mission will be unmanned, testing the new ship's capabilities and ability to self-dock at the Space Station.PHOTO GALLERY: SPACEX ROCKET LAUNCH LIGHTS UP EVENING SKYCargo-carrying Dragon capsules are usually captured by the Space Station's robotic arms and brought into the docking bay. The Crew Dragon is designed to dock and un-dock on its own.The Crew Dragon being launched Friday night will be carrying a sensor- laden mannequin, outfitted in a SpaceX spacesuit, along with about 400 pounds of supplies and equipment. The spaceship is expected to arrive at the International Space Station at about 3 a.m. California time on Sunday. The ship will remain docked at the station until about 11:30 p.m. Pacific time March 7, when it begins its journey back to Earth. It is expected to splash down in the Atlantic Ocean -- slowed by four parachutes -- about six hours later.VIDEO REPORT: No, it was not a UFO. SpaceX launches rocket into space off California coastAssuming the test flight goes well, SpaceX is scheduled to actually launch astronauts into space for a short demonstration flight this summer, possibly in July. NASA has already chosen astronauts Robert Behnken and Doug Hurley for the historic mission. Assuming no issues with that flight, two other astronauts -- Victor Glover and Mike Hopkins -- will later become the first humans carried by a Crew Dragon spacecraft to the International Space Station. 1929

Historic numbers of background checks to purchase or possess a firearm were conducted in June. It's just the latest month with record-breaking numbers since the system was created in 1998.The FBI reported Wednesday that 3.9 million checks were done last month in what's a key barometer of gun sales.Officials have conducted 19 million background checks through the first six months of 2020 — according to The Associated Press, that's more than all of 2012 and each of the years before that.Gun sales typically surge during election years, given the fear that the next president could increase restrictions on the sales of firearms. But several crises in 2020 have fueled the sale of guns, including the coronavirus pandemic, an economic recession, protests over racial injustice and calls to reduce police funding.A group representing gunmakers says firearm purchases are a reasonable reaction to the political climate, while gun control advocates say they're concerned first-time buyers don't have enough training. 1023
