He took a friend, a flashlight and a small aluminum baseball bat but he thought he was picking up documents from a private investigator.Instead, as he approached the spot off Rancho Santa Fe Road and Avenida Soledad, he shined his flashlight around and spotted someone dressed in camouflage pointing a long gun right at him.Before he knew what was happening he was hit once in the side, the bullet exiting out his back.In the courtroom Tuesday, his ex-wife and the man accused of firing the gun, her weapons instructor, sat quietly, Lovejoy crying at times and shaking her head at others. Mulvihill was cross-examined Tuesday and the trial will resume Wednesday morning. 1506

(KGTV) - The mother of a 14-year-old girl sexually assaulted by a San Diego Deputy filed a civil lawsuit citing negligence and invasion of privacy.Deputy Timothy Wilson pleaded guilty to lewd acts on a minor and two counts of unlawfully taking computer data. He’s serving jail time. The victim’s mother, Jennifer Tanis, says Wilson accessed her daughter’s police file 44 times. He was able to get her home address, videos, and pictures of her daughter. She tells 10News she’s suing the county, not for money, but change. Currently, all deputies are allowed to access police files, but she thinks the only person who should have access to them is the lead investigator.She says the county failed her.“There was no system in place to protect my daughter, her story or the pictures they took of her during the investigation," Tanis said.Tanis is pushing for change not only in the county but the entire country. She reached out to Congressman Mike Levin’s office for help. San Diego County has said they have the capability of making police reports private, but only in some cases. WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court has ruled that the Trump administration can deport some people seeking asylum without allowing them to make their case to a federal judge. The high court’s 7-2 decision applies to people who fail their initial asylum screenings, making them eligible for quick deportation, or expedited removal. ACLU attorney Lee Gelernt argued against the case and said the ruling will put lives in danger."This ruling fails to live up to the Constitution’s bedrock principle that individuals deprived of their liberty have their day in court, and this includes asylum seekers. WASHINGTON (AP) — Hackers got into computers at the U.S. Treasury Department and possibly other federal agencies, touching off a government response involving the National Security Council. Security council spokesperson John Ullyot says on Sunday that the government is aware of reports about the hacks and is taking steps to identify and remedy any possible issues. Reuters reported Sunday that a group backed by a foreign government stole information from Treasury and a Commerce Department agency responsible for internet and telecommunications policy. Intelligence agencies are reportedly concerned that other agencies were hacked using similar tools. The Treasury Department on Sunday deferred comment to the National Security Council. 748
