I instantly broke into tears," said Wysocki.Along Congress Street, Wysocki found a side window of her Lexus on the ground, smashed."Then I came upon the other broken window, which was also a shock and quite a bummer," said Wysocki.Inside her car, about 30 bucks in emergency cash was missing, along with some ibuprofen. Her windows are tinted, but if someone peered inside, some boxes filled with paper products can been seen. Wysocki believes those boxes made her car a target. Wysocki is hardly alone. Along Congress Street, there is a trail of broken glass."It's really sad. It's disgusting," said Wysocki.Police told Wysocki there were seven other "smash-and-grab" break-ins discovered in her neighborhood that same day. SAN DIEGO (KGTV and CNS) -- For the second straight day, San Diego County has recorded over 400 new COVID-19 cases, health officials announced Saturday.The county is reporting 436 new cases Saturday, bringing the total to 12,837.Officials also reported only six communities outbreaks were identified in the past week which falls beneath the county's community outbreak trigger of seven in seven days.The number of recoveries reached 8,954, while the number of deaths increased by two raising the total to 360 for San Diego County.The deaths reported Saturday were of a woman and a man who died June 25 and their ages were in the early 70s and 80s, officials said. The man who died did not have underlying health conditions.Saturday marked the sixth time in seven days that health authorities reported more than 300 new COVID-19 cases. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A beloved Poway tradition is facing accusations of animal cruelty and breaking the law.A lawsuit filed this week claims horses were illegally shocked in the 2018 Poway Rodeo to cause them to buck wildly for crowds. Two animal activist groups filed the suit; Showing Animals Respect and Kindness (SHARK) and Animal Protection and Rescue League (APRL).Investigators with SHARK captured video during the 2018 Poway Rodeo, which they say proves an illegal device was used. The video appears to show someone with the rodeo shocking a horse in the holding chute just before releasing them into the rodeo arena.California law outlaws an electric prod or similar device from being used on any animal once the animal is in the holding chute, unless necessary to protect the participants and spectators of the rodeo.The plaintiffs are seeking a temporary restraining order before September's rodeo in hopes to get a court order preventing these devices from used.The animal groups notified the San Diego Humane Society of the alleged abuse, but humane law officers say they got the complaint too late to do a proper investigation. The boy’s parent’s called police to report him missing around 2:15 p.m. Tuesday. Police could be seen in San Diego's Skyline neighborhood searching for the boy. Police say the boy usually walks home from school. According to police, the 9-year-old was found at a McDonald's. 405

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – A driver was taken into custody after a passenger in his car died following in a crash in Paradise Hills early Wednesday morning.According to San Diego police, an 18-year-old driver and four passengers were in a car traveling westbound in the 6100 block of Paradise Valley Road at around 2 a.m. when the crash occurred.Police said the driver tried to make “an unsafe left” onto southbound Munda Road, but the car veered off the roadway and went down an embankment.All five people were able to get out of the car and made their way back to the street, but police said an 18-year-old girl had to be taken to the hospital.The girl, who was not identified, later died at the hospital from internal injuries.The driver fled the scene, but officers -- with the help of a helicopter overhead -- found him hiding in bushes a few blocks away surrounded by coyotes.Jail records obtained by ABC 10News show the driver, identified as 18-year-old Eduardo Douglas Jones, was booked on charges of gross vehicular manslaughter, hit-and-run causing death/injury, and DUI.The crash remains under investigation. 1119
