President Donald Trump said Thursday he wishes he could get involved with the Justice Department and direct it toward Hillary Clinton."The saddest thing is that because I'm the President of the United States, I am not supposed to be involved with the Justice Department," Trump said. "I am not supposed to be involved with the FBI."Trump's comments on the radio program "The Larry O'Connor Show" about the Justice Department and FBI came the same week the Justice Department's special counsel investigation handed down indictments to his former campaign hands. The President responded to a suggestion from the host that his listeners want the Justice Department to go after Clinton by saying that he'd like those entities to focus on his 2016 opponent as well."I look at what's happening with the Justice Department. Well, why aren't they going after Hillary Clinton with her emails and with her, the dossier?" Trump said, referring to the law firm Perkins Coie saying it had paid Fusion GPS to compile a dossier of information on Trump and Russia on behalf of Clinton's presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee."I'm very unhappy with it that the Justice Department isn't going," Trump said."I am not supposed to be doing the kind of things that I would love to be doing. And I am very frustrated by it."Trump is under significant scrutiny regarding his interactions with the Justice Department, and it remains unresolved whether he did anything improper by firing former FBI Director James Comey. The President reiterated his unhappiness with his Justice Department Friday morning in a series of tweets, saying "everybody is asking" why the DOJ and FBI isn't investigating Clinton and Democrats."At some point the Justice Department, and the FBI, must do what is right and proper. The American public deserves it!" he tweeted. 1852
POWAY, Calif. (KGTV) — Poway will host two simultaneous Fourth of July fireworks shows this summer in order to encourage social distancing while continuing the tradition.Fireworks will launch from both Poway High School and Sportsplex in South Poway Business Park at 9 p.m. on July 4, the city says."Keeping these celebrations going is more important than ever," said Poway Mayor Steve Vaus. "They will bring people together in spirit and shine a little bit of light into the darkness we've experienced due to the pandemic, all while we celebrate our nation's founding."The two locations will allow for a nearly 360-degree view of fireworks from the Sportsplex while allowing those who traditionally view the show near the high school to continue doing so.However, there won't be any viewing allowed at Poway High School's football field due to public health orders. Instead, anyone who wants to view the show can purchase a parking pass to watch from across the street at Lake Poway. City officials say a map of the best viewing locations and more information will be posted online here soon.Anyone who heads out to view the shows is reminded to observe social distancing from groups that are not from the same household and wear facial coverings around non-household members. 1285

POWAY, Calif. (KGTV) -- The Anti-Defamation League Tuesday announced a ,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects who reportedly painted a swastika on the side of a Poway home the first night of Hanukkah. The announcement was made following a vigil Monday night where members of the Poway community came together in solidarity to rally against anti-Semitic hate crime. Shawn Seibert, who lives in the home with his mother, said he heard noises late Sunday night. When he walked outside, he told 10News he saw two people running away. He then noticed the swastika painted on the side of the home and chemicals poured on the family’s car. President Donald Trump said Thursday he is opposed to changing the structure for the remaining two presidential debates. On Wednesday, the Commission on Presidential Debates said it was considering changes following Tuesday’s debate which contained frequent interruptions. “The Commission on Presidential Debates sponsors televised debates for the benefit of the American electorate,” the commission said on Wednesday. “Last night’s debate made clear that additional structure should be added to the format of the remaining debates to ensure a more orderly discussion of the issues. The CPD will be carefully considering the changes that it will adopt and will announce those measures shortly. The Commission is grateful to Chris Wallace for the professionalism and skill he brought to last night’s debate and intends to ensure that additional tools to maintain order are in place for the remaining debates.” But changes generally would have to be agreed upon by the campaigns, and it appears Trump opposes any changes. “Why would I allow the Debate Commission to change the rules for the second and third Debates when I easily won last time” Trump tweeted. Wallace called Tuesday’s debate a ‘missed opportunity' in an interview with the New York Times. “I never dreamt that it would go off the tracks the way it did,” he told the New York Times. 1365
President Donald Trump said the outcome of the deadly shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue would have been different had an armed guard been in place."If there was an armed guard inside the temple, they would have been able to stop him," he said to reporters before boarding a flight to a Saturday rally. There are multiple fatalities in the shooting, and at least six people are injured, including four police officers, Pittsburgh Public Safety Director Wendell Hissrich said.Trump also said the nation should strengthen its laws surrounding the death penalty."When people do this, they should get the death penalty," he said. "Anybody that does a thing like this to innocent people that are in temple or in church ... they should be suffering the ultimate price, they should pay the ultimate price."When asked if the shooting indicated a need to revisit gun laws, Trump replied that the shooting "has little to do with it" and that an armed guard might have been able to stop the gunman "immediately." 1008
