Days after President Donald Trump announced he was cutting off negotiations for a new COVID-19 relief bill until after the 2020 election, Trump said Friday morning that negotiations for a new bill "are moving along" and that he wanted to "go Big!"In addition, The Washington Post reports that White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow has "approved a revised package" to present to House Democrats. Kudlow told reporters that "developments are positive" for more stimulus. However, moments after Trump's tweet, The Associated Press reported that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell thought it was "unlikely" a new stimulus bill would be passed before the election. According to the AP, McConnell said negotiation participants were "elbowing for political advantage.Friday's announcement is a direct about-face from earlier in the week. On Tuesday, Trump tweeted that he had instructed Senate Republicans to cut off negotiations for further COVID-19 stimulus and instead focus full-time on confirming his Supreme Court nominee. At the time, Trump blamed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for seeking too much relief, saying that Democrats' offer including funds that were "in no way related to COVID-19" and would be used to " bailout poorly run, high crime, Democrat States." 1277

Democratic candidate Stacey Abrams is not conceding the Georgia governor's race to Republican candidate Brian Kemp, arguing that the high stakes contest is too close to call.CNN has not projected a winner in the Georgia governor's race, but Kemp is ahead in votes with 99% of precincts reporting."I'm here tonight to tell you votes remain to be counted. There's voices that are waiting to be heard," Abrams told supporters early Wednesday morning gathered in Atlanta. In a statement provided to CNN, her campaign cited several specific reasons why she is not conceding, including that three of the state's largest counties "have reported only a portion of the votes that were submitted by early mail" and four other large counties "have reported exactly 0 votes by mail," according to the campaign. Together, it said, the seven counties "are expected to return a minimum of 77,000 ballots." 897
DEL MAR, Calif. (KGTV) — Shine your ruby red slippers and prepare for a walk down the yellow brick road to Emerald City — well, Del Mar.The San Diego County Fair's 2019 theme of "Oz-some" will encompass the iconic books and films surrounding L. Frank Baum's classic "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.""The Fair's theme is quite special to San Diegans, because Oz author L. Frank Baum is thought to have found inspiration for at least 3 of his 14 Oz books during his extended stays in Coronado," Katie Mueller, deputy general manager of fair time operations, said. "Though most people know Oz only through the famous movie, the Fair has chosen to bring the books to life, including a few differences that will be a surprise to most. For instance, Dorothy's famous slippers are silver, not ruby."SAN DIEGO FAIR 2018: BY THE NUMBERSThe fair will run from May 31, 2019, to July 4, 2019, and be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays in June.Fair officials say San Diegans will get to journey to Emerald City and enjoy education exhibits, wicked carnival rides, and more fair fun they've come to know and love. The Toyota Summer Concert Series will also return with 27 nights of entertainment already announced for the fair's Corona Grandstand Stage.
