SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Some local drivers hoping to earn some extra cash are turning to peer-to-peer shipping.Kuazine King owns his own production company specializing in hip hop.  Business is good, but he still needs to supplement his income.  The problem?"I'm always on the road.  I have artists ... I need something that gives me ultimate flexibility but also good pay," said King.Ten months ago, King signed up to drive for Roadie, a peer-to-peer shipping app that launched in San Diego about a year ago.  The Atlanta-based company matches people and businesses with stuff to send, with drivers headed their direction.On a recent morning, 10News stopped by King's home in Del Cerro and watched as he scrolled through a list of delivery jobs.  After a few seconds, he chose one.  Delta Airlines needed someone to pick up a bag from Lindbergh Field."I'm going to take it to Carlsbad for ," said King.10news rode along as he headed to the airport picked up his package from the Delta office.  It was a surfboard, one of two airport pickups he got that morning, both bound for North County.King says on a given day, he can complete about six deliveries and earn about 0.  He likes the pay and the power over his schedule."Uber is flexible, but this is the ultimate flexibility," said King."The whole idea is to tap into unused space already on the road to make delivery more efficient, more cost effective, more sustainable and faster than any other delivery method," said Jamie Gottlieb, Content Manager at Roadie.King says all that adds up to another perk: happy work days.        "I don't think I've ever delivered to a person who hasn't been happy to get their bags.  They're always happy!" said King. 1795

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Sirhan Sirhan, who was convicted for assassinating Robert F. Kennedy in 1968, was stabbed Friday in a South San Diego County prison. A statement from the state Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation said the stabbing occurred Friday afternoon at the Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility near San Diego."Officers responded quickly, and found an inmate with stab wound injuries. He was transported to an outside hospital for medical care, and is currently in stable condition," the statement said.The statement did not name Sirhan, but TMZ first reported that Sirhan was stabbed and taken to a hospital outside the prison for care. The Associated Press, citing a government source, confirmed that Sirhan was the victim.Cal Fire confirmed to 10News a person stabbed Friday afternoon at the prison was taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital."The suspect in the attack has been identified, and has placed in the prison’s Administrative Segregation Unit, pending an investigation," a California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation official said in a statement.Sirhan was convicted in the shooting death of Kennedy during a presidential campaign rally in Los Angeles. He was immediately tackled by witnesses. Sirhan was convicted of first-degree murder in 1969 and initially sentenced to death. The sentenced was commuted to life in prison in 1972 when the California Supreme Court found that the death penalty constituted cruel and unusual punishment under the state constitution, according to the CDCR.Sirhan has had 15 parole hearings and subsequent denials since he was incarcerated. He has claimed he does not remember shooting Kennedy, the Associated Press reported in 2016.At least five inmates were injured during a riot at Donovan prison one week ago. The fight broke out in the prison yard among inmates, some of whom used handmade weapons. The five injured men were taken to local hospitals for treatment.The CDCR reported 4,093 prisoners living at Donovan prison as of Aug. 28. The facility was designed to house 2,992 inmates, putting it at 136.8 percent of its capacity, according to the report. 2142

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego's newly renamed Museum of Us will reopen to visitors this week.The museum, formerly called the Museum of Man, will reopen on Sept. 16 at 10 a.m. under the state's new guidelines for museums during the coronavirus pandemic.The Museum of Us will operate at 25% capacity when it reopens and all guests will be required to wear a face covering. Other measures to slow the spread of COVID-19 include:Plexiglass is in place at the admission desk to minimize contact.Guests are required to keep 6 feet of distance between other visitors.Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the museum.Guests will be given a personal pencil to use throughout interactive exhibits.Guests will be provided a suggested linear path of travel to promote social distancing.Handrails and other surfaces throughout the museum are frequently sanitized for your safety.The museum is encouraging guests to also purchase their tickets ahead of time online or by using debit or credit cars. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Several people were hospitalized after they reportedly fell ill at a Sorrento Valley pharmaceutical company.San Diego Fire-Rescue crews were called to 6769 Mesa Ridge just before 2 p.m. Tuesday to reports that a 60-year-old man was passed out outside the business, Inovio Pharmaceuticals.Bystanders reportedly began CPR and used a defibrillator on the man.Crews say that additional people were transported after falling ill. In all, two people transported themselves to Scripps Memorial Hospital while two others were transported by emergency crews.Their conditions are not known at this time.SDFD said they believe the victims became sick after eating food brought in by an employee.  727
