The victim said Scott twice had intercourse with her and had subjected her to other sex acts numerous times in the family home in Hooper, records state.Around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Scott forced a Dodge County deputy from the transport vehicle en route from Lincoln Diagnostic and Evaluation Center to Dodge County Jail, according to a Dodge County Sheriff's Department press release. The deputy was taken to Fremont Health Medical Center for treatment as a precautionary measure, the release states.Scott had been serving a two- to four-year sentence since April 11, 2016, for his fifth DUI offense, and was due to be released Oct. 21, according to the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services. NEW YORK (AP) -- Fire officials say a man has been killed in in a raging apartment fire at Trump Tower in New York City.Fire Commissioner Daniel Nigro says a 50th-floor apartment at the midtown tower was "virtually entirely on fire" when firefighters arrived after 5:30 p.m. Saturday.Fire officials say a man who was in the apartment was taken to a hospital and later died. Four firefighters suffered minor injuries. President Donald Trump tweeted earlier that the fire was "Very confined (well built building)." Trump's business is based at Trump Tower and his residence is there, but he has spent little time in New York since taking office.Nigro says no member of the Trump family was at the building on Saturday.He says about 200 firefighters battled the blaze. 783

Nine-year-old Nariya White loves to concoct slime and make lip gloss. She's an aspiring scientist and an expert at turning simple ingredients into original products. So when she was bullied this past school year, she turned that experience into something positive.“Two girls were bullying me, and I just decided I should make a book about bullying," said White.In March, she wrote a book called "A Slimetastic Day." It was recently published and is available on Amazon.The book is about "encouragement." When two boys call girls dumb, the girls initially become discouraged, but then the girls challenge the boys to slime making competition. The girls use their creativity and knowledge to prevail. White hopes her book inspires other children.“The book was about bullying, so if someone in your school or on the street is bullying you, you shouldn’t really care about it because you have your family, cousins, and friends that care about you," White said.White's mother Kina knew the book would be a bestseller with family and friends but said she didn't expect all the praise they've received from strangers. NOBLESVILLE, Indiana — Concertgoers at a Rascal Flatts concert in Indiana on Thursday night were left wondering what happened after the event ended abruptly.Due to a "security concern," everybody in the band had to leave the Ruoff Home Mortgage Music Center, according to a Facebook post from Rascal Flatts."The safety of our fans, band and crew is always the top priority for us, so we are so thankful for everyone who jumped into action and for your understanding," the post reads. Caitlyn Conlon had front-row tickets for the concert. She said at the beginning of the concert, everyone felt safe, and one of the band members said to the crowd, "With everything going on in the world today, we are Americans first before anything else. We are all one and just forget everything going on and let’s all become one tonight.”Later in the concert, the keyboard player started to play another song, then abruptly stopped, she said. Conlon said they were told by security that they had to leave right away. Chad Caldwell, the 62nd Engineer Battalion commander.These soldiers are a part of the 5,000 troops near the country's southwest border to prepare for the expected arrival of the migrant caravan. Last week, they started placing razor wire above the border fence, a task that is not yet complete. And yesterday, the army helped close two lanes at the DeConcini port of entry."It has been a challenge. It is not a standard mission-set to be trained for back in Ft. Hood, but as Army engineers, our job is to solve difficult problems for whoever we're supporting," said Caldwell."Weld the pickets up to the fence, run the c-wire with barbed-wire underneath it, and strap it to it. Our role is to support the CBP and do whatever they ask us to do," said Sgt.
