SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police have released photos of the man accused of badly beating a Pacific Beach bouncer Sunday night. According to police, four men tried to enter through the side door of a restaurant on the 700 block of Grand Avenue around 9:20 p.m. Sunday when a bouncer told the group they had to use the main entrance. As a confrontation escalated, police say one of the men picked up a metal crowd barrier pole, hitting the bouncer in his head. Others in the group then reportedly started fighting with other bouncers at the restaurant before all four men left, according to police. The bouncer who was hit in the head suffered a skull fracture and brain bleed. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Another bouncer suffered a broken nose and two other staff members suffered some bumps and bruises. The man suspected of swinging the pole was described as black, in his 30s, 6 feet tall, and 250 pounds with a muscular build. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Officials are seeking the public's help to identify a young woman who was hit and killed on Interstate 5 near the San Clemente Border Patrol station almost two weeks ago.The Hispanic female, believed to be in her late teens to early 20s, was hit while trying to run across northbound I-5 lanes at about 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 9.She may have recently traveled to the country from Mexico or another Central American country, according to Medical Examiner investigator Tessa Lee.RELATED: Unaccompanied girl hit, killed walking on Interstate 5 near San Clemente border station"We are hoping that someone may recognize this young woman so we can identify her and notify her family," Lee said.A fingerprint search in the FBI and U.S. Border Patrol databases came back with no matches.The woman had brown eyes, long hair, weighed about 111 pounds, and was 5-feet 1-inches tall. She didn't have any identification at the time of her death.She was, however, wearing distinctive clothing: A maroon shirt with repeating cartoon prints and the word "travels" on it, jeans with a stitched design on a brand tag reading "Eemociones," and gray high-top sneakers with a heart on the sides and turquoise metallic studding.Officials have released a sketch of the woman as she would've appeared while alive.Anyone who may have any information about the woman's identity is asked to call the Medical Examiner's Office at 858-694-2905 and mention case number 2018-01951. 1496

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- More than 24,000 people were left without power due to an unplanned outage in San Diego Tuesday afternoon. The power outage was reported around noon and affected 24,067 people throughout San Diego. As of 7 p.m., the San Diego Gas and Electric outage map showed 3,352 customers without power. Neighborhoods affected include: City Heights, Chollas Creek, Oak Park, Kensington, Talmadge, W State College, Rolando, E State College and La Mesa. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - On Monday, CVS pharmacists started vaccinating nursing home residents and staff in San Diego and across the state. CVS expects to give the vaccine to around 700,000 people across the state.“We've really tried to be careful. We've had no COVID-19 cases, thank the Lord, at our skilled nursing facilities,” Ellen Schmeding with San Diego’s St. Paul’s Senior Services told ABC10 News on Monday. Residents at its Banker’s Hill location start having access to the vaccine this Wednesday. “They've been around. They've seen polio and small pox. They know what a great gift it is to have the vaccine available right now,” she added.CVS Health District Leader Lisa Kalajian told ABC10 News on Monday, “We have 40,000 long term care facilities that opted to go with us for vaccinations nationwide and 15,000 of those are in California.” Over the next 12 weeks, she said that the company will begin with vaccinating residents and staff at nursing homes, followed by residents and staff at assisted living facilities.Kalajian said that the company can't provide the list of facilities in San Diego, where the county is seeing an increase in COVID-19 cases. The latest numbers show there are 48 active outbreaks at those type of facilities. She said that the company plans to enter long term care facilities three times. Once for the initial vaccination, then for the booster shot and finally to cover anyone who was left behind.The goal, she told ABC10 News, is to eventually offer the shot to the general public at in-store locations, although that's not been finalized. “We are starting with long term care facilities but are contracted to move onto the general public.
