An animal shelter in Canada says it has gotten calls from around the world after it shared the story of a dog that was found along with five kittens.A post from the Pet and Wildlife shelter in Chatham, Ontario, described how the dog was found keeping the kittens warm on the side of a road on a cold night.She was cuddling up against them in the snow.Someone notified a shelter, and an animal control officer picked them up.The kittens have been taken in by a foster family because they are not old enough to be adopted yet.The dog, now named Serenity, will be ready for adoption on Dec. 3. 602

A shaky cell phone video captured the moments before a Texas police officer shot and killed a woman who claimed she was pregnant.Now people on social media are divided over whether the shooting was justified.The officer was patrolling an apartment complex in the Houston suburb of Baytown late Monday when he saw a woman he knew from previous encounters, Baytown police said.A family member identified the woman as Pamela Shantay Turner. In a text message Tuesday, police Lt. Steve Dorris said Turner was not pregnant.The officer knew the 45-year-old woman had outstanding warrants and started trying to arrest her, police said.A witness' cell phone video showed the woman yelling at the officer:"I'm walking! A University of Utah senior missing for more than a week was last seen at a park where she met someone in a car, Salt Lake City police said.Mackenzie Lueck, 23, arrived at Salt Lake City International Airport on June 17 after visiting family.She then took a Lyft to Hatch Park in North Salt Lake, where she was last seen in the early-morning hours."Mackenzie was met at Hatch Park by an individual in a vehicle. The Lyft driver left Mackenzie at the park with that person and stated that Mackenzie did not appear to be in any type of distress," Assistant Police Chief Tim Doubt told reporters on Monday.Doubt said detectives are canvassing the area around the park and are looking for video surveillance. He said police have not yet confirmed the make or model of the car or obtained a description of the person."To date the family and her friends have not heard from her," Doubt said. Police confirmed she missed a flight to Los Angeles on the morning of June 23.
