Robinson.The new Siri shortcut is available for Apple iOS 12 devices. It allows you to secretly record conversations between you and law enforcement.“What we have seen are video captures of police officers losing it, irrationally starting confrontations with citizens,” Robinson said.Once the app receives a verbal command, it goes into "do not disturb" mode. It automatically turns down brightness, pauses sound or video and can send a message to a pre-selected contact, letting them know you’ve been pulled over.“Police go to an academy as to how to deal with citizens, and so to suggest that (the app) is manipulating an officer, that really doesn’t make sense,” Robinson said.He adds that the app would have been good to have during the 2016 confrontation between Philando Castile and a Minnesota police officer after Castile was shot by the cop. Yvonne Staples, one of the four members of the famed gospel and R&B group the Staples Singers, died on Tuesday at the age of 80, a family spokesperson confirmed to NPR. A cause of death has not been announced. The Staples Singers had several No. 1 hits in the 1970s, including "I'll Take You There" and "Let's Do It Again." The group comprised of Yvonne Staples, and sisters Mavis and Cleotha and brother Pervis. The group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999. The Staples Singers also earned a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2005 Grammys. Yvonne's sister Cleotha died in 2013. Yvonne Staples was survived by her brother Pervis, and Mavis, who is coming off a tour with Bob Dylan.  766
