McDonald's is sweetening up its breakfast menu by adding three new items.The fast-food chain announced Wednesday that beginning Oct. 28, consumers will be able to order blueberry muffins, cinnamon rolls, and apple fritters from its menu.McDonald's said the new items would be available all day.For the first time in eight years, the sweet treats are the first addition of bakery items to the chain's core menu, joining cookies and pies."McDonald's has been famous for our savory breakfast menu for almost fifty years," said Linda VanGosen, Vice President, Brand and Menu Strategy, McDonald's USA in the news release. Michael Allman says his platform of "direct democracy" sets him apart from the other candidates running for the 52nd Congressional seat. At an event in La Jolla Tuesday announcing his candidacy, Allman explained how he would use technology to asses his constituents positions on major issues. Allman says  he has designed a software program that would allow voters to go online and voice their opinions. The program will ensure that only registered voters can weigh in and also makes sure they're voting just once. The investor and former energy company executive is one of several Republicans challenging Democratic representative Scott Peters in next year's election.  708

MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin Supreme Court has ruled against President Trump's lawsuit and latest attempt to overturn the state's election results. The ruling came just an hour before Wisconsin's electoral college voters were set to confirm Biden's win in the state.President Trump's legal team took the lawsuit to the state Supreme Court after losing in Milwaukee County Court last week. The court previously refused to hear the case before it went through lower courts.The Supreme Court met in a rare weekend session to listen to arguments in the case. LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville, Kentucky, has banned the use of controversial "no-knock" warrants and named the new ordinance for Breonna Taylor.Taylor was fatally shot by Louisville officers who burst into her home in March. Her death, along with the deaths of Ahmaud Arbery and George Floyd, have sparked a largely peaceful protest movement across the country, calling for significant changes in policing and an end to systemic racism.Louisville Metro Council unanimously voted Thursday night to ban the controversial warrants after days of protests and calls for reform. According to NPR, the law also requires police to wear body cameras when serving warrants and turn them on five minutes before entering a person's home.Taylor was killed on March 13 when police served a no-knock warrant on her home as part of a narcotics investigation. Taylor's boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, fired at police, thinking they were intruders. Police returned fire and shot Taylor dead.No drugs were found at her home. No charges have been filed in connection to Taylor's death.Taylor's mother, Tamika Palmer, said the new law will save lives.Kentucky Sen.
