If you’re among the 40 million people online looking for love, you know it can be tough finding the perfect match. It might be your fault, but one little change could send you down the aisle. You may be dating out of your league. A new study found that users who messaged people out of their league typically waited a lot longer to get a reply back or even get a reply at all. "A lot of people try to date out of their league, and they use that terminology," says Chief love officer Michelle Frankel, with New York City Matchmaking. "But it may not result in the end relationship they are looking for; but it might not even be what they perceive it to be."  According to Urban Dictionary, dating out of your league simply means you’ve got no shot. However, Frankel says that’s not true all the time. If the asteroid does get too close for comfort, the geniuses at NASA have hatched a plan.NASA says they could send a nine-ton “bulk impactor” to push the asteroid out of Earth’s orbit. The plan is called HAMMER, which stands for (deep breath) Hypervelocity Asteroid Mitigation Mission for Emergency Response.Though the odds are slim that the massive asteroid will hit Earth, in 1908, what is believed to be an asteroid crashed in Siberia with force 185 times as powerful as the bomb dropped on Hiroshima.The impact flattened 80 million trees and killed hundreds of reindeer. Scientists say Bennu isn’t all bad.The asteroid is giving scientists a chance to test theories. But as that became easier to detect, a more insidious crime has evolved: the creation of completely new identities.Known as “synthetic identity theft,” it involves fraudsters using a combination of fake information, such as a fictitious name, and real data, like a child’s Social Security number, to create fraudulent accounts.It is a growing problem, says Eva Casey-Velasquez, president and CEO of the nonprofit Identity Theft Resource Center.But the scope of the problem is difficult to determine because the crime can go undetected for years, she says. However, the rate of children’s identity theft was more than 50 times that of adults, according to a 2011 report by Carnegie Mellon University’s CyLab, which studied the identities of over 40,000 children. HUDSON, Fla. — A Florida woman was arrested after she reportedly left two small children in a hot car with a bag of methamphetamine on the front seat while she was shopping in a Hudson, Fla. dollar store. Deputies responded to the dollar store to check the welfare of two young children in a hot car all alone. The children, a 1-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy, were both seated in the back seat of the car. Deputies found a small clear bag containing a crystal-like substance sitting on the driver's seat. A field presumptive test showed the substance tested positive for methamphetamine. Deputies located Nicole Buffington, 24, inside the Dollar Tree store nearby and brought her outside. The investigation indicated the children were left alone from 12:06 p.m. to 12:29 p.m. while a bag of meth was easily accessible to the two small children, placing them in a state of neglect. Buffington was arrested and transported to the Land O Lakes Jail without incident. Buffington has been charged with child neglect and possession of methamphetamine. 1088
