UPDATE: Santa Clarita County Sheriff's deputies announced Saturday the boy was safe and his father was arrested. Deputies did not disclose details of the recovery.GORMAN, Calif. (KGTV) - An Amber Alert took effect Friday for the 2-month-old Los Angeles County boy who may be with his father.LA County deputies said Jefferson Gomes was taken by his biological father, 42-year-old Jeffrey Gomes, after a domestic violence incident in the Gorman area.Gomes was driving a 2007 white Chevrolet 2500 pickup truck with a 28-foot 'toy hauler' trailer. Tyler Walker is a self-described people person, which is a good thing because he spends most days working one-on-one taking pictures, specifically headshots, of people.“For me, headshots are a way to get people confidence, show them their value. I love doing that one-on-one,” he said.Walker runs KC PRO Headshots out of a studio in the West Bottoms neighborhood of Kansas City, Missouri.Wednesday may be one of the busiest days in his studio’s history. He hopes to take headshots of 50 different people in one day and he’s doing it all for free.Walker and a photographer in Olathe, Kansas, are part of the 10,000 Headshots Project. Hundreds of photographers across the United States are donating their time Wednesday in order to take headshots of 10,000 people who lost their jobs due to COVID-19 and are looking for a new one.“It’s good to know that I’m doing something that made a real difference in a person’s life,” Walker said.The work-based social media site LinkedIn said profiles with professional headshots get 14 times the number of views compared to profiles without a picture.Walker said a good headshot is helpful in any job application.As a people person, he knows people are struggling because of the coronavirus. Vice President Mike Pence will provide a COVID-19 briefing to healthcare workers in Philadelphia on Thursday.The briefing is the second coronavirus-related briefing in as many days for the vice president. On Wednesday, he held a briefing at the Department of Education in Washington that mainly focused on the Trump administration's plan to reopen schools by fall.At that briefing, Pence promised that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention would be releasing new guidelines — echoing criticism from President Donald Trump, who claimed Wednesday that the current CDC guidelines were "too tough." (KGTV) — Body camera footage shows the chaotic moments northern California police officers jumped into action to help save animals from a shelter in the path of the Nelson Fire.Vacaville Police officers were called in to help evacuate animals from the Solano SPCA animal shelter Saturday, as flames threatened the shelter.Video shows officers racing into the shelter and pulling animals from their cages. In some cases, animals were loaded directly into police cars, while others were placed in crates before being loaded in vehicles.RELATED: Firefighters battling Holy Fire care for dehydrated?fawnMore than 60 animals were in the shelter, according to SPCA."All animals are safe in foster homes at this time. Unfortunately, we do not have power or water at this time but all 60 of our animals are safe in foster homes for the time being," SPCA said on Facebook. "We are hoping to get in there tomorrow to clean up the ash and debris inside our kennel building and around the property."Fire crews were able to halt the flames before they hit the animal shelter."Fire crews were still working today putting out hot spots and we are grateful for their hard work," the shelter said. (KGTV) -- A woman died early Sunday morning after her vehicle rolled over on a North County road before being struck by several other drivers suspected of driving under the influence.According to California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 2:15 a.m. in the westbound lanes of SR-78 near Mar Vista Drive.CHP says the 33-year-old woman from Oceanside was driving her Toyota Carolla when she veered off the road onto a dirt shoulder. When the woman tried to regain control of the vehicle she hit the center divider wall, leaving the vehicle disabled.RELATED: Pregnant mom who fell asleep at the wheel crashes into Vista building, causing gas leakAfter the crash, a 54-year-old man from San Marcos struck the Corolla, ejecting the woman from her car. The 33-year-old driver of the Corolla died at the scene, CHP said, and the 54-year-old man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. According to officers, after the second crash, a 38-year-old man also from San Marcos crashed into both of the vehicles previously involved in the crash. The driver and two passengers were taken to the hospital.The drivers of the vehicles involved in the second and third crashes are both suspected of driving under the influence.The District Attorney’s office also responded to the scene after being requested by officers to aid in the investigation.SR-78 west is currently closed.
