IMPERIAL BEACH (KGTV) - A man was arrested Saturday in Imperial Beach after residents say he rushed into a home and wrecked their bathroom, leaving blood everywhere. Resident Miguel Ledesma said their front door was open to let in the breeze, "I heard some noise behind me and I turned around and the door was wide open, so I saw him rush through." The man was mumbling about being chased. Ledesma said the man backed up, tripping over the Christmas tree, knocking it over in the process, and went into the bathroom. Ledesma said that's when his brother shut the door to protect the family."There were screams, the lady who lives in there she was screaming pretty loudly," Neighbor Matthew Rodriguez said."We started hearing all these noises, all the breaking, the mirror, the shower curtain, everything in there is destroyed, there's bloody pretty much," Ledesma said. Officers finally removed the man, handcuffing him. The man was later loaded into an ambulance.He had visible cuts on his neck and arms, and a bandage around his head. Ledesma said he came in without a scratch and left bloody."It was pretty scary because we didn't know what he was going to do before the cops showed up," Rodriguez said."We're all okay, he didn't take anything, he just destroyed the bathroom pretty much," Ledesma said. He said they reached out to the property manager to get the bathroom fixed, but his mother was already cleaning with bleach. 1440

Hundreds of passengers on an Amtrak train that became disconnected will have quite a story to tell around the Thanksgiving table.The Montreal to New York train was traveling near Albany, New York, at about 7:20 p.m. Wednesday when two cars separated from the engine, Amtrak spokesman Jason Abrams said in a statement. Of the 287 passengers and crew, he said, no one was injured. The passengers were transferred to a new train, Abrams said.CNN reached out to Amtrak for further details but has not heard back.Billy Osher-Dugan was traveling to spend Thanksgiving with his girlfriend when he saw the cars separate."It was packed," he said. "There were hardly any seats available."He heard a noise and turned around to see cars behind him rip apart from the train, he said. That's when one passenger pulled the emergency brake to stop the train and others -- upon smelling smoke -- grabbed the fire extinguisher.Luckily, he said, there was no fire and everyone was OK.Helen Mary Crane was with her son on the way to spend the holiday with her daughter. Crane said two cars were added to the train when she boarded in Rensselaer, New York, and that she and her son were told to sit in the first of the additions.Crane's car was one of the two to break off."As far as being with my son," she said. "I was terrified when I saw the sparks and smelled burning and then realized our car was no longer attached. I thought we would derail or be hit by the other train."She said she credits the man who pulled the emergency brake on the runaway cars for the safety of everyone. She identified him as Reuben Clarke, a student at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute."He saved our lives tonight," Crane said. "Our car broke off from the rest of the train and was picking up speed. There was no Amtrak personnel in our car. Reuben calmly went into action and pulled the emergency brake at the front of the car. In a state that has had instances of young black men being shot by police while handling a BB gun, one officer in Ohio was thankful he did not pull the trigger on an 11-year-old he spotted carrying a BB gun. According to the Columbus Division of Police, Officer Peter Casuccio was dispatched to a scene on Saturday to a gun run. When he arrived, Casuccio found an 11-year-old carrying a BB gun as he was walking with a 13-year-old companion. At the scene, Casuccio expressed his frustration that he nearly shot the unidentified 11-year-old. The exchange was captured on Casuccio's police-issued body camera. "This is getting kids killed all over the country," Casuccio said.Casuccio explained to the boy that police got a call of a boy matching the 11-year-old's description holding a gun. "I didn't show anybody it,' I was just holding it like this," the boy said."You can't do that," the officer responded. "That thing looks real.""Do you think I want to shoot an 11-year-old? Do you think I want to shoot a 13-year-old? Do I honestly look like the kind of dude who wants to shoot anybody?" Casuccio said. "But do I look like the type of dude who would shoot somebody?"The boys respond, "Yes, sir." Casuccio then explains the incident to the 11-year-old's mother. "I pulled up and I’m not gonna lie, I drew down on them. He freaks out and he starts to pull the gun out of his waistband," the officer told the mother. "He could have shot you for that, you know that?” the mother could be heard saying. "He dropped it real fast, and I didn't know it was a BB gun until hit the sidewalk," Casuccio said.In recent years, Ohio has had several notable instances of police shooting young black men carrying BB guns as officers believed the weapons were real. Some of those incidents have led to protests in those respective communities. On Aug. 5, 2014, 22-year-old John Crawford III was fatally wounded after he was seen inside a Walmart in Beavercreek, Ohio carrying a BB gun. Officers Sean Williams and David Darkow were not criminally charged in connection to Crawford's death. Three months later in Cleveland, 12-year-old Tamir Rice was seen in a park "pointing a pistol" at people in the park. In the call to police, the witness did state that the weapon was "probably fake." Moments later, Officer Timothy Loehmann fatally wounded Rice. Loehmann was not criminally charged in Rice's death, but was later fired in 2017 after Cleveland Police discovered that he had lied on his job application. The City of Cleveland paid the Rice family a million settlement. In 2016 in Columbus, the same department Casuccio works for, Tyre King, 13, was shot and killed in the back by Officer Bryan Mason after police said King brandished an air gun. Mason was reportedly investigating a robbery at the time of the incident. A grand jury declined to charge Mason criminally for the shooting. There is a pending lawsuit by King's family against the City of Columbus.  3153

In a move that reminded some people of road trips with their parents, a Delta flight turned around and went back to the gate because passengers were not complying with crew instructions.In a statement from Delta Airlines, Flight 1227 from Detroit to Atlanta on July 23 “returned to the gate following two customers who were non-compliant” with the airline's mask policy.The plane had pulled away from the gate and was still on the ground when it turned around. Delta says crew members asked the two passengers to wear a mask, and they did not.At the gate, the two passengers who did not wear a face covering were removed from the flight. The plane then took off for Atlanta as originally planned. 704
