SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The California Department of Public Health is warning the public after a recall was issued for nearly 50,000 pounds of sausage products due to contamination.According to the department, the products may contain pieces of white, hard plastic. Eddy Packaging Co. Inc. recalled the smoked sausage products due to the contamination.The products were sold at Walmart stores in San Diego, Chula Vista, National City, Oceanside, Poway, Santee and La Mesa.The products being recalled have the establishment number "EST. 4800" inside the USDA mark of inspection. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The City of San Diego says it is working to earn back the public's trust after thousands of families got hit with erroneously high water bills this year. But the problems appear to be persisting. Ed Kitrosser and his wife just got a bill for 3, more than double the usual for their home in Pacific Beach."We're on automatic sprinklers. Their concerns come after a city audit found that about 3,000 San Diegans got erroneous water bills, largely due to human error. Shawn Tobias, of La Jolla, is questioning a bill he received for more than ,800."You call the city and say 'I'm pretty sure you made a mistake on this' and they say 'no, no, this is what you used,' and then your heart drops," Tobias said. RELATED: San Diego man furious with city over ,000 water billThe city, meanwhile, says it is making progress on installing a series of reforms after the audit. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The County has announced 61 sites where you can easily drop off your mail ballot ahead of the March 3 primary. According to County News Center, those who wait to drop off their ballot past Tuesday, February 25 may want to drop it off at one of the county sites before Election Day. The drop-off sites will be open during each location’s business hours from Monday, February 24 through Election Day Tuesday, March 3. “More than 1.3 million San Diego County voters have chosen the convenience of mail ballots and that number continues to rise,” said Registrar Michael Vu. “The early drop-off sites provide a great service for voters. They help with the timely return of mail ballots and decrease the high volume of voters dropping off mail ballots at polling places on Election Day.”The sites are located at 61 libraries throughout the county. Click here for a list of locations. The county warns that the sites are not for early voting, but for mail ballots only. Voters can also drop off their mail ballot or vote in person at the Registrar of Voters located at 5600 Overland Avenue. The office is open 8 a.m. through 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. On Election Day, the office will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. The office will also be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, February 29 and Sunday, March 1. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The City of San Diego is set to open a third homeless storage facility on Monday. The facility will be similar to the locations in downtown and Logan Heights, allowing homeless to safely store their personal belongings while trying to get back on their feet. The new location is located on 54th and Lea Street in El Cerrito. It will be operated by Mental Health Systems (MHS), a nonprofit that also operates the Logan Heights location. The organization helps people that are affected by substance abuse and behavioral health disorders. With the addition of this third location, the city now has storage space for over 1,400 people. 10News spoke to homeowners near the new storage location and neighbors had mixed reactions. Some worried the facility would attract more homeless to the area and others worried about people leaving trash behind in their neighborhoods. Some neighbors told 10News they welcome the facility and hope this will help people get back on their feet. The facility opens at 10:30 a.m. on Monday. 1047

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The co-founder and CEO of the Super Dentists said that during the current COVID-19 pandemic, patients have been hesitant to get dental work done."The American Dental Association did a survey, and about 75 to 80 percent of the patients across the country feel comfortable about going back to the dentist. About 15 percent want a vaccine before they go back,” said Dr. Kami Hoss.And while he understands the precautions people are making, Hoss said a recent study indicates dentist offices have shown to be safe."There have been zero cases of COVID related to any dentist offices,” Hoss said.And to further help ease the minds of dental patients, Hoss has just written a book titled, "If Your Mouth Could Talk.""I wanted to know what keeps parents up at night and what their worries are. I did some research, and I had 300 pages of stats on what keeps parents up at night. When I read them, I realized that so many of them could be related back to their mouths, and their kids mouths. So, I decided to write a book about it,” Hoss told ABC 10News.He's a dentist and an author, but that is not all. Hoss has a love of music, so he decided to write and compose songs for the Super Dentists. He said his musical inspiration is the rock band KISS."I think KISS made just like beautiful melodies you know with all the great performances they had at their concerts,” said Hoss.It may sound a bit strange a dentist composing music, but he said it has a purpose in the world of the Super Dentists."We do all of these things with characters, music, and the movies so the kids associate something positive to their oral health,” Hoss said. 1655
