The woodworking elves of the La Costa Glen senior living community in Carlsbad have spent nearly a year creating 100 handmade toys of all shapes and sizes.The toys have up to 39 pieces, crafted with various types of wood like walnut, cherry, and mahogany. (KGTV) - A brush fire broke out in a training range on Camp Pendleton Friday, creating a plume of smoke visible above North San Diego County.The fire started at 11 a.m. near the center of the base in the Basilone/San Mateo area, officials said.
