Joseph Price, 24, of San Diego, convinced the victim to post an online advertisement offering sex and drove her to meet with customers throughout San Diego County, according to court documents.The complaint filed last year states that the girl took part in the commercial sex acts on nearly a dozen occasions last summer and all of the money she earned went to Price. She also told investigators that on one occasion, when she did not want to engage in certain sex acts that the customer -- or ``john'' -- requested, Price struck her in the face.Price was arrested last August by San Diego police in connection with a parole violation stemming from a first-degree burglary conviction. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A suspected Russian hacker who allegedly ran an online platform where hackers could buy and sell stolen personal information has been arrested and is slated to be extradited to San Diego, the U.S. Attorney's Office said Tuesday.Prosecutors say Kirill Victorovich Firsov, 28, was the administrator for the DEER.IO platform, which provided hackers with access to virtual stores where they could buy or sell hacked and/or compromised financial corporate data, personally identifiable information and compromised user accounts. Hackers also allegedly used DEER.IO to advertise their services.DEER.IO has been operating since at least 2013, and provided users with a storefront for 800 rubles -- or about .50 -- per month, according to prosecutors. The platform was advertised as having more than 24,000 active shops, with sales exceeding million.Prosecutors say law enforcement was unable to find a single legitimate business advertising its services or products on DEER.IO.FBI agents arrested Firsov on March 7 in New York City. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Military and civilian emergency crews spent a third day battling a stubborn, hot blaze aboard the USS Bonhomme Richard at Naval Base San Diego Tuesday, laboring to subdue a perilous conflagration that has injured scores of firefighters and caused extensive damage to the warship.Despite the destructiveness of the fire, however, Navy officials reported late Tuesday morning that the vessel appeared to have escaped irreparable harm, though all-out efforts to quell the flames were ongoing within the ship and from outside it."The ship is stable, and (its) structure is safe," Rear Adm. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A local realtor who molested two underage girls apologized to his victims during a court hearing Friday, while those speaking on behalf of the victims said they could take solace in the fact that he will likely spend the rest of his life behind bars.Donald Edward Hickey, 62, pleaded guilty last month to five felonies, including lewd and lascivious acts with a child and possession of child pornography for material investigators found on three separate devices.Hickey was initially set to be sentenced to a 25-years-to-life term on Friday, but the hearing was postponed until Sept. 6 so that an interview can be conducted for his probation report, which could affect his future in-custody housing considerations.Prosecutors did not disclose how Hickey knew the victims, but according to Deputy District Attorney Stephen Marquardt, the molestations occurred sometime between 2009 and 2012 in San Diego County. Hickey was arrested last year following a cyber tip sent to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.The former Clairemont resident, who worked as a real estate agent out of La Jolla, was found to have ``thousands'' of videos and images of child pornography in his possession, some of which depicted Hickey abusing children.``This defendant not only preyed on these children, but he also memorialized what he did so that he could retain a copy of the real-time abuse of those children,'' Marquardt said.Hickey's attorney, Danielle Iredale, said Hickey was molested by a local man in his neighborhood when Hickey was between the ages of 10 and 12.Hickey told those in attendance, ``I'm sorry for everything that's happened. I hate that you put my family in that position.''Jane Doe 1 did not attend the hearing. Her older sister told Hickey that she wanted to attend, but ``was absolutely terrified to see your face.''
