SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Covid Clinic’s debut in San Diego County was a little rocky in April when it was shut down by Dr. Wilma Wooten, the county’s public health officer.Fast forward to today, the operation seems to be running smoothly in both La Mesa and Downtown San Diego.“Since we were one of the first to open in San Diego County, there were some things that were brought to our attention that the county wanted,” said Covid Clinic CEO, Matt Collins. “So once we met each of the items that they were requesting, we’ve been able to continue testing without any issues.”Wooten sent a letter to Covid Clinic stating that the first site at MiraCosta College in Cardiff needed to shut down because the proper credentials to operate were not provided to the county. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- At least six people were injured Thursday morning after a head-on crash in Dulzura.According to Cal Fire San Diego, the crash happened on state Route 94 near Otay Truck Trail at around 7:30 a.m.The circumstances surrounding the crash are still unclear, but Cal Fire says one person was taken to the hospital with major injuries, and five others had minor injuries.The condition of the person rushed to the hospital is unclear at this time. 468

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – Authorities are searching for a person suspected of starting a trash can fire that scorched the side of a Normal Heights home early Thursday morning.At around 2 a.m., San Diego Fire-Rescue crews were called to the 3300 block of Meade Avenue in response to a trash can on fire next to a house.Some residents told ABC 10News they heard noises at the trash cans and the saw a fire begin to ignite.Screams from residents apparently scared off a person believed to have sparked the blaze.As fire crews arrived, flames from the trash can burned the side of one house. The fire was quickly knocked down before it could engulf the entire home.ABC 10News learned one person was displaced due to the fire; no injuries were reported.A description of the person suspected of starting the fire was not immediately available.Arson investigators are involved in the fire probe. 889

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - At least two former students of a coding bootcamp in downtown San Diego received refunds after a Team 10 story earlier this summer.Sean Calma and Lane, who declined to give his last name, were enrolled at Origin Code Academy. They both said they were promised one-on-one instruction, which they did not receive. Neither had previous coding experience, so they both asked many questions before enrolling."One time, [the instructor] didn't even know what he was looking at on my computer screen. A second time, he was like, I don’t know what that is. Third time, he asked to go ask another instructor," Lane told Team 10 back in June.CEO Jeff Winkler said coding is difficult, but would be willing to talk to the students about getting their money back. During a previous Team 10 interview, he pointed to many satisfied students and dozens of graduates, including one who recently got a job at Facebook.Winkler did not respond to Team 10's request for comment regarding the refunds.Coding bootcamps are regulated by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE). Origin Code Academy was previously operating without approval. The academy appealed its citation, its fine was reduced, and as of August, it is allowed to operate.
