INDIANAPOLIS -- If you owned one of the original PlayStation 3 “phat” consoles that were released back in 2006, you may be owed some money.PCMag.com reports that the original PS3 console – or the “phat” PS3 had the ability to install an alternative operating system but when the smaller “slim” model was released, the operating system functionality was removed because of security concerns. Those changes resulted in a class action lawsuit which dragged on until a settlement was reached in 2016 allowing PS3 owners to claim – but time’s almost up.Anyone who owns a “phat” PS3 still has until April 15 to submit the claim form. To file a claim, a person must have purchased their PS3 from an “authorized retailer” and include their PSN username and PS3 serial number. The offer is only good for 20GB, 40GB, 60GB and 80GB models. To submit your claim click here. 881
It may be the undercard match in 2020, but the battle for control of the U.S. Senate will not be cheap. Democrats are beginning to post fundraising totals for Q2 and numbers show that despite the pandemic, donating to Democratic politicians isn't appearing to take a hit. For example, in Montana, Former Democratic Gov. Steve Bullock announced he has raised .7 million to defeat Republican Sen. Steve Daines, who is also expected to raise millions. Montana is shaping up to be a crucial state for Democrats. Currently, Republicans control 53 seats in the United States Senate. It is looking more likely a Republican will win the Senate race in Alabama which means Republicans will have 54 seats. But they must also defend seats in states like Montana, Colorado, Arizona, North Carolina, Georgia and Maine. Democrats believe it is possible to win five of those races, giving Democrats control. Democrats would also gain control the Senate if they win four of those races and Joe Biden wins the presidency, since the vice oresident casts tie-breaking votes. MONEY TALKS The biggest sign yet that Democrats are focused heavily on the Senate is the race in South Carolina. Trump ally Sen. Lindsey Graham is up for reelection and his race is generally not seen as a competitive, yet Jaime Harrison, Graham's Democratic challenger, announced he has raised over million. While much focus is being placed on Democrats, Republicans are expected to match Democratic numbers when it is all said and done. Many Republican Senators have worked for years to maintain a "campaign warchest" predicting strong numbers from the Democratic Party. For instance in Colorado, Republican Sen. Cory Gardner is estimated to have over million dollars worth of "cash on hand" available to defend his seat. 1799
It is the best-selling soft drink in Scotland, often referred to as the country's "other national drink," so it should perhaps come as no surprise that the banning of Irn-Bru from a luxury golf resort owned by Donald Trump has caused many Scots to see, erm, orange.Reports that Trump Turnberry in Ayrshire has removed the bright orange fizzy drink, which is more popular than Coca-Cola in Scotland, from sale over fears that the beverage could permanently stain the resort's expensive carpets has been a trending topic in the United Kingdom on Twitter. The ban apparently came to light after a request by guests for Scotland's favorite non-alcoholic beverage to be supplied at an event was refused. As part of the five-star resort's £200 million (1 million) upgrade, hundreds of thousands of pounds was reportedly spent on carpets.Ralph Porciani, Turnberry's general manager, told the Ayrshire Post: "We can't have it staining when to replace the ballroom carpet would be £500,000 (8,800) alone."We have villas here with Irn-Bru stains in the carpets which I can't let."National newspaper The Scotsman published an editorial on the subject entitled "An unfortunate stain on Trump's reputation.""The resort may have ballroom carpets to protect but surely the stain on Trump's reputation from this ill-considered decision is much, much worse," the newspaper wrote. On Twitter, Edward MacKenzie said: "This time he really has gone too far!" while Occasionally Odd tweeted: "Why don't they just make all the carpets #irnbru coloured?" and Simon MacMichael said: "The President of the United States has just declared war on Scotland."When contacted by CNN, Trump Turnberry did not have anyone available for comment, saying that Porciani was "too busy to provide comments on this." AG Barr, the makers of the drink, has also declined to comment on the ban.According to Irn-Bru, the equivalent of 20 cans of its drink, which was first produced in 1901, is sold every second. So popular is the drink in Scotland that fans stockpiled cans in anticipation of the UK government's introduction of a sugar tax on soft drinks last month which forced a change in recipe that cut the sugar by almost half.Last year social media fizzed when Barack Obama was given a sugar-free version of the beverage on his first visit to Scotland, while in 2014 Canada banned Irn-Bru -- and other well-known British products such as Marmite and Ovaltine -- because it contained unapproved ingredients. It is not the first time that Trump, whose mother was born on the island of Lewis, has irked the Scots, with the US President accused of breaking promises and ruining Scottish dunes with his Aberdeenshire golf course.Last year, members of the UK Parliament debated a motion to stop the billionaire from making an official state visit to the country after more than 1.8 million people signed a petition calling for the trip to be downgraded in the wake of Trump's proposal to ban citizens of some predominantly Muslim countries from entering the United States.Trump is set to visit Britain in July, though not on a full-blown state visit, and is expected to meet Queen Elizabeth II, but it is not clear yet what beverage will be served up for the occasion. 3240

INTERACTIVE MAP: Where the Woolsey?Fire is burning in Ventura and LA countiesLOS ANGELES (CNS) - A smoke advisory remained in effect Saturday due to the Woolsey Fire, which was causing unhealthy air quality affecting everyone in areas directly impacted by smoke, including central and northwest coastal Los Angeles County, the San Fernando Valley and the western San Gabriel Valley.A growing blanket of brown smoke crept across the Southland sky on Saturday, as the fire in Los Angeles and Ventura counties grew to 70,000 acres with zero percent containment."It is difficult to tell where ash or soot from a fire will go, or how winds will affect the level of dust particles in the air, so we ask everyone to be aware of their immediate environment and to take actions to safeguard their health," said Dr. Muntu Davis, health officer for Los Angeles County."Smoke and ash can be harmful to health, even people who are healthy," Davis said. "People at higher risk include those with heart or lung diseases, children and older adults."Early Saturday, the smoke created an eerie, fog-like presence that extended far south along the coast, including the Marina del Rey and LAX area. That lifted by around noon, but as the afternoon wore on the sky grew gradually darker over large swaths of Los Angeles County.Davis urged everyone in areas where there is visible smoke or the smell of smoke to avoid unnecessary outdoor exposure and to limit physical exertion, whether indoor or outdoor, such as exercise.Children and people who have air quality-sensitive conditions, such as heart disease, asthma and other chronic respiratory diseases, should follow the recommendations and stay indoors as much as possible, even in areas where smoke, soot or ash cannot be seen or there is no smell of smoke, according to DPH officials. The health department is "also advising schools and recreational programs that are in session in smoke-impacted areas to suspend outside physical activities in these areas, including physical education and after- school sports, until conditions improve," Davis said. "Non-school-related sports organizations for children and adults are advised to cancel outdoor practices and competitions in areas where there is visible smoke, soot or ash, or where there is an smell of smoke. This also applies to other recreational outdoor activity, such as hikes or picnics, in these areas."According to DPH, people can participate in indoor sports or other strenuous activity in areas with visible smoke, soot or ash, provided the indoor location has air conditioning that does not draw air from the outside and all windows and doors are closed.Wildfire smoke is a mixture of small particles, gases and water vapor, and the primary health concern is the small particles, which can cause burning eyes, runny nose, scratchy throat, headaches and bronchitis, health officials said. In people with sensitive conditions, the particles can cause difficulty breathing, wheezing, coughing, fatigue, and/or chest pain.DPH offered the following recommendations:-- If you see or smell smoke, or see a lot of particles and ash in the air, avoid unnecessary outdoor activity to limit your exposure to harmful air. This is especially important for those with heart or lung disease (including asthma), the elderly and children.-- If outdoor air is bad, try to keep indoor air as clean as possible by keeping windows and doors closed. Air conditioners that re-circulate air within the home can help filter out harmful particles.-- Avoid using air conditioning units that only draw in air from the outside or that do not have a re-circulating option. Residents should check the filters on their air conditioners and replace them regularly. Indoor air filtration devices with HEPA filters can further reduce the level of particles that circulate indoors.-- If it is too hot during the day to keep the doors or windows closed and you do not have an air conditioning unit that re-circulates indoor air, consider going to an air conditioned public place, such as a library or shopping center, to stay cool and to protect yourself from harmful air.-- Do not use fireplaces (either wood burning or gas), candles, and vacuums. Use damp cloths to clean dusty indoor surfaces. Do not smoke.-- If you have symptoms of lung or heart disease that may be related to smoke exposure, including severe coughing, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, wheezing, chest tightness or pain, palpitations, nausea or unusual fatigue or lightheadedness, contact your doctor immediately or go to an urgent care center. If life-threatening, contact 911.-- When smoke is heavy for a prolonged period of time, fine particles can build up indoors even though you may not be able to see them. Wearing a mask may prevent exposures to large particles. However, most masks do not prevent exposure to fine particles and toxic gases, which may be more dangerous to your health.-- Practice safe clean-up following a fire. Follow the ash clean-up and food safety instructions at http://bit.ly/SafeFireCleanup.The following is recommended for pets:-- Avoid leaving your pets outdoors, particularly at night. Pets should be brought into an indoor location, such as an enclosed garage or a house.-- If dogs or cats appear to be in respiratory distress, they should be taken to an animal hospital immediately. Symptoms of respiratory distress for dogs include panting and/or an inability to catch their breath. Symptoms for cats are less noticeable, but may include panting and/or an inability to catch their breath. 5583
