People are taking to the streets in major American cities calling for change after George Floyd, a black man, died in Minnesota after being restrained by a white police officer. People were quick to question that decision. “Where was all your gear when (cuss word) white people were storming up to the (cuss word) capitol with AK-47s?,” asked one protester. “Black people peacefully protest and we are reprimanded for it.” While holding signs saying black live matter and chanting blue lives murder, people stopped by this protest, started sitting on top of the cars, giving them a unique view.“I feel like with this outbreak there’s going to be a lot of rebirth within the country,” one man said. “You can’t breathe sometimes but you must move forward.”On Friday, the former officer seen kneeling on Floyd's neck, Derek Chauvin, was arrested and charged with the 36-year-old's murder and manslaughter. 2038

(CNN) -- Vice President Mike Pence made an unannounced trip to Iraq to visit US troops ahead of Thanksgiving, landing in the country Saturday amid violent anti-government protests.Pence visited the Al Asad Air Force Base in western Iraq, where he was greeted by the US Ambassador to Iraq and several military officers.He received a classified briefing from the commanding officer on the base and spoke by phone with Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi.On the call, Pence told Mahdi that he traveled to Iraq in part to "extend gratitude to the men and women (of the US military) serving in your country," according to the TV travel pool with the vice president.Mike Pence and his wife Karen Pence later served the troops a Thanksgiving lunch, with the Vice President serving turkey and Mrs. Pence handing out yams.As service members came up to them, the Pences asked each where they were from and thanked them for their service.Vice President Pence then delivered remarks to about 150 service members in a hanger. A Halloween display featuring President Donald Trump and former President Barack Obama put up outside of a Fowlerville, Michigan, auto shop has drawn concern and even death threats to the owner. The original display was put up three weeks ago outside of Quality Coatings on Carr Street. It was a scarecrow with Trump’s facemask holding a rope and Obama’s facemask at the bottom of the rope. Under the Trump scarecrow foot was a Hillary Clinton mask. Just a few days ago, the auto shop owner took down the rope and Obama’s head and placed a sash on the Trump scarecrow that says, “PC Police.” A post on social media displaying the original decorations went viral, with many claiming the rope looked like a noose. The shop owner, who refused to go on camera, says it was not meant to be racist, rather the rope was meant to look like a spine and a move from the game Mortal Kombat. "I feel like it was supposed to be a noose and he says there’s no winners, yet who’s holding Obama's head?," said Ashley Tyler who lives near the display. A college student whose body was found in a field hours after she got into a vehicle she mistakenly thought was her Uber ride died from multiple sharp force injuries, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division said Monday.Samantha Josephson, 21, a student at the University of South Carolina, called an Uber around 2 a.m. Friday in Columbia, and was last seen getting into a black Chevy Impala, said Columbia Police Chief W.H. "Skip" Holbrook. Turkey hunters found her body 14 hours later in the field in Clarendon County, about 90 miles away.The Law Enforcement Division cited an autopsy report from the Clarendon County coroner. Authorities declined to release additional information.Josephson's body had numerous wounds, including on her head, neck, face, upper body, leg and foot, according to arrest warrants for suspect Nathaniel David Rowland.Surveillance video of Josephson outside a bar shows her standing by herself on a curb on the morning she disappeared. She takes several steps toward a black vehicle that pulls up to a parking spot. She appears to reach for the door handle of the vehicle as it slows down and gets inside, the video shows.Josephson and her roommates had gotten separated the night they went out, Holbrook said. Her roommates grew worried the next morning. They looked for her and called Columbia police around 1:30 p.m. Friday to report her missing, Holbrook said.Police arrived at the home where Josephson and her roommates lived that day.Josesphson's friends also went around Columbia with her photo on Friday asking if anyone had seen her.Iley Wildes, who co-owns Natural Vibrations, a store located next to a bar where Josephson was last seen, recalled Josephson's boyfriend and roommates came in to her store with a photo of Josephson. They also wanted to see the store's surveillance video, Wildes told CNN."They seemed very concerned and distraught," she said.Early Saturday, police arrested Rowland, 24, in Columbia after an officer saw him driving an Impala that matched the description of the vehicle seen in surveillance video. Police found Josephson's blood in the car's passenger side and trunk, authorities said. A construction worker was killed while working on Disneyland property in Anaheim, California, early Thursday, police said.The 38-year-old man was working for a contractor for the park when he became pinned under a large metal plate in a trench, Anaheim Police Sgt.
