Soon, it will finally reopen for all to enjoy.Opened in 1926, the San Diego Museum of Art is the city's oldest and largest museum.Following a four-month pandemic shutdown, the museum is finally ready to continue educating locals, starting July 9."Every single protocol has been put in place there is a big team here working the last three months and thinking precisely how to give you the joy of the art the pleasure of being at the museum but more importantly the fact that you can feel safe here," said Roxana Velasquez, the museum's executive director.Safety precautions will be in line with temperature checks and social distancing. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — The San Diego Zoo welcomed a rare bear cub to the mix last week.Zoo officials say an Andean bear cub was born to mom Alba and dad (or, sire) Turbo on Jan. 8 in the early morning hours. “We are overjoyed about the birth of Alba’s first cub,” said Chris Hamlin, animal care manager at San Diego Zoo. “Alba is showing all the appropriate behaviors of a good mother, being very attentive to her newborn. Giving the bears their space is critically important, as Andean bear cubs have an extremely high mortality rate in their first month, so care takers are being watchful but cautiously optimistic. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department is investigating after a man died in Fallbrook late Friday night.Deputies responded to the 440 block of Ammunition Road around 10:40 p.m. to assist the North County Fire Department with an injured man.When deputies arrived, they found a man identified as Nicolas Ramirez suffering from an unknown traumatic injury.Ramirez was then taken to the hospital where he later died. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The Scripps Ranch Civic Association offered a reward Monday to find the person who vandalized ball fields.The incident was reported over the weekend at Jerabek Park at 10150 Agenda Magnifica. Someone in what neighbors believe was a large truck drove in circles on the field, raising the turf.“This type of destruction of our field, we’ve seen it a couple of times before; it’s really got to stop,” said Steve Trifoglio, who plays ball at the field.The SRCA posted a ,000 reward on its Facebook page.
