BEIJING, Dec. 18 (Xinhua) -- China's official Xinhua News Agency on Saturday formally launched its financial information exchange, an information sharing platform in the financial and cultural sectors to promote development of the nation's capital market.Approved by the People's Bank of China, or the central bank, it is the world's first financial information exchange.It is funded by and registered with the China Finance Corporation (CFC), owned by Xinhua.Located in the Lize business district in the southwest of downtown Beijing, the exchange has the world's largest LCD panel groups at 7,593 inches, which show real-time information in the finance and cultural industries.Member users can also get the latest information on technology transfers and business consultations.The exchange would improve Xinhua's presence and influence in the global financial information sector and enhance China's soft power in the international capital markets, said Xinhua president Li Congjun at the inauguration ceremony."It aims to be a fair, just, professional and highly efficient intermediary service platform in the financial information and cultural sectors to promote information sharing among the cultural sector, industries and the capital markets," he said."The ultimate goal is to become the world's most influential financial information and cultural industry service center."

BEIJING, Nov.18 (Xinhua) -- Premier Wen Jiabao's visit to Tajikistan next week will deepen friendly cooperation between China and Tajikistan, said Cheng Guoping, Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister, Thursday."Since the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two nations in 1992, bilateral relations have witnessed steady and sound development with extensive high level exchanges and increasing political mutual trust," said Cheng at a press conference.He said because of the joint efforts by the two sides, cooperation in trade, transportation, communications, electricity and infrastructure had been expanding and fruitful.Total bilateral trade volume in the first 10 months this year reached 1.08 billion U.S. dollars, a 2.5-percent rise from the same period last year, Cheng said.The two countries had also supported each other in major issues of mutual concern and maintained close coordination within multilateral institutions like the UN and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), effectively guarding their own interests and making positive contributions to the world peace and development, he said.During the visit, the leaders of the two countries would exchange ideas about bilateral cooperation as well as international and regional affairs.Wen would also attend ninth SCO prime ministers' meeting in Tajikistan's capital of Dushanbe on Nov. 25, said Cheng.He said the SCO member nations were expected to find common ground in promoting regional cooperation, facilitating investment, and enhancing the organization's internal construction.Sun Yongfu, director general of department of European affairs at Ministry of Commerce, who also attended the press conference, said economic cooperation among SCO members had been fruitful due to their close trade links.He said in the first 10 months this year the total trade volume between China and the other SCO states reached 67.9 billion U.S. dollars, up 37.4 percent year on year.Sun said the close cooperation among SCO member nations had made positive contributions to returning the world economy back to growth.

BERLIN, Jan. 6 (Xinhua) -- Visiting Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang said here Thursday that China and Germany should join hands in expanding economic cooperation to achieve mutual benefits.Speaking at a dinner with German and Chinese business representatives, Li said that China has the capability and condition to maintain steady and relatively fast economic growth in the long run.But he added China is still a developing country and that it needs to make long-term and strenuous efforts to achieve its modernization goals and enable all the Chinese people to enjoy the benefits of economic and social development.On China-Germany relations, Li said that the two countries, through close cooperation and coordination, have achieved an early and robust recovery from the global financial crisis.Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang delivers a speech during an evening dinner with Chinese and German business people in Berlin, Germany, Jan. 6, 2011. HOHHOT, Jan. 2 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao has stressed that herdsmens' living standards should not be lowered as the nation strives to conserve the grasslands.Wen made the remarks during a two-day tour to Xilingol, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, that ended Sunday.From the beginning of this year, China is giving financial assistance to herders for their efforts to conserve grasslands and to compensate them for their losses.China's pastoral regions are vast and have great development potential. The development of animal husbandry not only helps herders improve their living standards but also concerns cities' non-staple food supply, the Premier said."Periodic bans are an important step to restore the grasslands. They should be implemented gradually. Herders' living standards should not be lowered and pastoral regions' supply of beef and mutton should not be reduced during the process," he said.Officials should visit yurts to discuss the policy with affected herders, Wen said while inside a yurt, a traditional Mongolian tent.He called on authorities to devise policies for the sound and fast development of pastoral regions, on the basis of the new reward-compensation mechanism.He urged local governments to make more efforts to improve grass seeds, livestock and irrigation systems, to provide vocational training for herders and to facilitate the modernization of stock breeding and pasture areas.
