RAMONA, Calif. (KGTV) - The Fund for the Animals Wildlife Center is at capacity while it cares for a record number of patients. At the center, experts rehabilitate animals they hope to release back into the wild. Most of the predators are kept in the back of the 13 acre property to keep humans from imprinting on them, affecting their ability to survive after release.Staff take extreme care and 'secretly' feed their animals. From January 1to July 1, the center cared for 588 animals. As of Friday, they're currently caring for more than 100, and at capacity. Some of their animals documented in pictures provided to 10News, like an orphaned badger, the first badger the center has had in 20 years. They also have a Great-Horned Owl which was hit by a car."Our patients are one of three things, they're unfortunately orphaned, or ill or injured," director Matt Anderson said. They've seen 35 percent more patients compared to the same time last year, meaning they're caring for 154 more animals."It's what we call baby season, everybody expects it, it's a hectic time, all hands to the deck, the staff are wonderful so we're pushing forward and already have some success stories," Anderson said. The Center is funded through donations and The Humane Society of the US, those dollars critical now more than ever. Another factor behind the boom, higher rain levels meant more food all the way up the food chain."Lots more plant life, and lots more to eat for the prey items that our predators eat," he said that's also what brings predators into our neighborhoods."They're really really good at finding their own food, and so it's best to let them alone in their habitat and enjoy them from a distance," Anderson said.Reminding us how important it is to leave the animals alone so they can survive, go back into that sensitive ecosystem and keep it in balance. 1863

President Trump's first public reaction to the cancellation of "Roseanne" is a shot at Disney CEO Bob Iger."Bob Iger of ABC called Valerie Jarrett to let her know that 'ABC does not tolerate comments like those' made by Roseanne Barr," Trump tweeted Wednesday morning. "Gee, he never called President Donald J. Trump to apologize for the HORRIBLE statements made and said about me on ABC. Maybe I just didn't get the call?"Jarrett was one of the targets of Barr's Twitter tirade early Tuesday morning.Barr compared Jarrett to "Planet of the Apes" and the Muslim Brotherhood, then claimed she was just joking. The tweet was widely condemned as racist.Jarrett, one of the most prominent African American women in politics, was one of President Obama's top aides. That's partly why Barr attacked her. Barr frequently uses her Twitter account to deride Democrats.Iger and Jarrett did not immediately respond to requests for comment about Trump's tweet.Trump is implying that he is the victim of a liberal media double standard. There are additional political overtones to the dispute since Iger seriously considered a 2020 run against Trump. He deliberated about it with friends and financiers last year, but ultimately decided against a run.It is true that Iger called Jarrett and told her about the decision to cancel "Roseanne" shortly before it was announced on Tuesday."He wanted me to know before he made it public that he was canceling the show," Jarrett said in an interview on MSNBC.Trump's tweet on Wednesday seemed to be influenced by an Entertainment Weekly recap of the interview. EW said that "Iger apologized and said he would not tolerate those kinds of comments made by Barr, Jarrett said."Earlier in the day on Wednesday, Barr reacted to ABC's decision by tweeting apologies and retweeting dozens of her fans. Some of the retweets promoted conspiracy theories and anti-ABC grievances.The-CNN-Wire 1918

President Donald Trump's niece offers a devastating portrayal of her uncle in a new book. Mary Trump writes that a “perfect storm of catastrophes” have exposed the president at his worst. Early copies of the book, “Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World’s Most Dangerous Man," slated for publication next week, became available on Tuesday. She writes that the coronavirus pandemic, the possibility of an economic depression and deepening social divides have brought out the “worst effects" of Trump's "pathologies." Multiple media outlets, including CNN and the New York Times, are reporting on details from the book, including that Mary Trump alleges President Trump paid to have someone take the SAT for him. She says the combination of emergencies are problems that “no one is less equipped than my uncle to manage." Mary Trump is the daughter of Trump's eldest brother Fred Trump Jr., who died in 1981. Trump's other brother Robert, filed injunctions to stop the publication of the book. Robert Trump's lawyers argued Mary Trump had agreed not to publish such a book without permission from the family. Last week, a New York court ruled the book could be released. 1196

President Donald Trump, and former Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush were among many who expressed their sympathies late Friday following the death of President George H.W. Bush. Bush died on Friday. A cause of his death is unknown. "America has lost a patriot and humble servant in George Herbert Walker Bush," Obama said. "While our hearts are heavy today, they are also filled with gratitude. Not merely for the years he spent as our forty-first President, but for the more than 70 years he spent in devoted service to the country he loved – from a decorated Naval aviator who nearly gave his life in World War II, to Commander-in-Chief of our Armed Forces, with plenty of posts along the way. Ambassador to the United Nations. Director of Central Intelligence. U.S. Envoy to China. Vice President of the United States."George H.W. Bush’s life is a testament to the notion that public service is a noble, joyous calling. And he did tremendous good along the journey," President Donald Trump, who is attending the G20 conference in Buenos Aries, released a statement early Saturday morning hailing Bush as a person with "sound judgment, common sense and unflappable leadership." "President Bush always found a way to set the bar higher," Trump said. "As a young man, he captained the Yale baseball team, and then went on to serve as the youngest aviator in the United States Navy during the Second World War. Later in life, he rose to the pinnacle of American politics as a Congressman from Texas, envoy to China, Director of Central Intelligence, Vice President of eight years to President Ronald Reagan, and finally President of the United States."Bush's son George W. Bush, who served as the nation's 43rd president, released a statement on Friday on behalf of the entire family. "Jeb, Neil, Marvin, Doro, and I are saddened to announce that after 94 remarkable years, our dear Dad has died," President George W. Bush said in a statement. "George H. W. Bush was a man of the highest character and the best dad a son or daughter could ask for. The entire Bush family is deeply grateful for 41’s life and love, for the compassion of those who have cared and prayed for Dad, and for the condolences of our friends and fellow citizens." 2294
