BEIJING, June 29 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier Wang Yang and Russian counterpart Yury Trutnev on Thursday agreed on more cooperation between China's northeast, Russia's Far East and the Baikal region during a meeting of a governmental cooperation committee.
Both sides reaffirmed the importance of maintaining and promoting peace and stability, freedom of navigation in and flight above the South China Sea, addressing their territorial and jurisdictional disputes by peaceful means, without resorting to the threat or use of force, through friendly consultations and negotiations by sovereign states directly concerned.
Yu Zhengsheng, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), the top advisory body, chaired the meeting.
The senior leader also urged authorities at various levels to enhance contact with young entrepreneurs, sincerely listen to their concerns and help them resolve difficulties.
9. The two sides reiterated the importance of strengthening the WTO's central role in the multilateral trading system, committed to safeguarding the rules-based, transparent, non-discriminatory, open and inclusive multilateral trade system and welcomed the entry into force of the Trade Facilitation Agreement. The two sides agreed to work for a successful WTO Ministerial Conference in Buenos Aires in December 2017.
