Despite different history, culture and social system, those countries share common missions of improving economy, safeguarding stability and bettering people's livelihood, said the Chinese president.

"Based on a unified and integrated plan, China and the U.S. are willing to offer their respective aid to help the African Union build this system, which will be the first regional disease surveillance system in the African continent."

She reaffirmed China's adherence to the path of peaceful development, saying China is committed to settling the disputes through negotiations and working with the Philippines and other ASEAN countries to implement the DOC in the South China Sea.

"Seventy years ago, China and France fought respectively in Asian and European theaters during the world's anti-Fascism war," Li said, adding that "for many years, they have worked together tirelessly in favor of a multipolar world, the democratization of international relations and a fair political and economic order."

The visiting delegation shows there are people in both countries hoping to improve bilateral relations, noted Gao Hong, deputy head of the Institute of Japanese Studies under the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS).
