HONG KONG, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- The Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China displayed a scale model of its jetliner C919,the country's first home-grown large commercial airliner, for the first time at the Asian Aerospace '09 on Tuesday. With a scale of one to ten, the model was so far "the most precise one put up for public display," said Guo Bozhi, president of the Shanghai Aircraft Design and Research Institute, a unit of the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, or COMAC.     The mockup was displayed at a prominent position at the Asian Aerospace, Asia's leading air show, side by side with industry giants like Boeing and Airbus. Together with some ten other Chinese mainland-based manufacturers, suppliers and service providers at the show, it attracted attention of media from around the world. It has a registered capital of 19 billion yuan (2.78 billion U.S. dollars), with the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission as the biggest shareholder.     The company has said the maiden flight of C919 was planned for late 2014, with delivery expected by 2016. It was intended as a single-aisle airliner to target the short and medium haul markets in eight to ten years from now, Wang said.     If successful, COMAC plans to produce 50 C919 aircraft each year at the early stage and annual production could reach 100 or even more at a later stage, depending on how it is received by the market, Guo said. BEIJING, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) -- Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), the country's top aircraft manufacturer, said Sunday total sales revenue in its auto business would reach 30 billion yuan (about 4.39 billion U.S. dollars) by 2017.     Geng Ruguang, deputy general manager of AVIC, said making big passenger vehicles has become the the corporations's guiding plan for development in its auto business.     Geng revealed the figure at a ceremony marking AVIC and its partner Volvol's new product Silver 900 series going into production line.     The series is a new type of big and luxurious passenger vehicles, 12 meters long, which could be used for road transportation, tourist reception, and military equipment.     The Silver 900 series was developed by Xi'an Silver Bus Corporation, a joint venture established in 1994 by AVIC Xi'an Aircraft Industry Co. ltd, and the Swedish bus and truck maker Volvo company.     The Xi'an Silver Bus Corporation expects to produce annually 4,000 vehicles by 2014. HAIKOU, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- Rescuers have recovered the bodies of three victims in a boat capsizing incident after tropical storm Parma landed in south China's Hainan Province Monday.     Strong winds and waves triggered by Parma caused a fishing boat to capsize and sink off the coast of Wanning City Monday morning, and all nine fishermen aboard the vessel fell into water, a spokesman with the Hainan Provincial Emergency Response Office said.     By 5 p.m., one body had been retrieved and five people had been rescued. At about 8 p.m., the bodies of two more victims were found, according to the maritime bureau of Hainan.
