They're putting up a fight against a new development, and they say we can all stake a stand for what we believe.Michelle Schreiner and Princess Wilson are two of the women who live in Atlanta's Old Fourth Ward neighborhood. It's a neighborhood Wilson has seen change before her eyes.“When I was growing up, it was a predominantly African-American neighborhood,” Wilson says. “It was a black neighborhood, and everybody knew everybody there lived here.But when a developer announced plans for a new condo building, the women said enough was enough. NEW YORK (AP) — A person is in custody in connection with the killing of a 33-year-old tech entrepreneur found dismembered inside his luxury Manhattan condo. A law enforcement official said Friday the person in custody has been Fahim Saleh's personal assistant. Saleh was found dead in a gruesome scene Tuesday afternoon inside his apartment on the Lower East Side. Saleh was the CEO of a ride-hailing motorcycle startup called Gokada that began operating in Nigeria in 2018. Authorities say a relative called police after going to check on Saleh and making the gruesome discovery. 589
NEW YORK, N.Y. – During his first sit-down interview since officially becoming the Democratic presidential nominee, Joe Biden addressed a controversial comment he made in the spring regarding the Black community.The former vice president came under fire in May when he told “Breakfast Club” radio host Charlamagne tha God that African American voters aren’t Black if they support President Donald Trump over him in November."Well, I’ll tell you what, if you have a problem figuring out whether you're for me or Trump, then you ain't black," Biden quipped at the end of the interview."It don't have nothing to do with Trump, it has to do with the fact, I want something for my community," Charlamagne responded.“Take a look at my record. NOBLESVILLE, Ind. -- Jason Seaman, the hero teacher who stopped a school shooter at Noblesville West Middle School Friday, was honored at a baseball game Monday morning.The game was an Indiana Sectional Championship baseball game between Noblesville High School and Hamilton Southeastern High School. A moment of silence was held before Seaman arrived, then students began chanting Seaman's name, "Mis-ter Sea-man!"In an especially powerful moment, Seaman walked to some of his students who wanted to see him, with a fence separating them. Police say Seaman, 29, tackled a student who started firing in his classroom Friday morning. He was shot three times during the incident, but released from the hospital Saturday.
