PARIS (AP) — Michael Lonsdale, a giant of the silver screen and theater in France who worked with some of the world’s top directors in an acting career that spanned 60 years, has died at 89.From his role as the villain Hugo Drax in the 1979 James Bond film “Moonraker” to that of a French monk in Algeria in the 2011 movie “Of Gods and Men,” Lonsdale acted, often in brilliant supporting roles.He worked under top directors including Orson Welles, Steven Spielberg, Francois Truffaut and Louis Malle.Lonsdale died peacefully at his Paris home on Monday, his agent told The Associated Press.His performance in “Of Gods and Men” earned Lonsdale a Cesar, France’s equivalent of an Oscar, for best supporting role. 718

PlayStation 4's latest update gives parents a lot more power.On Wednesday, Sony rolled out a PS4 software update for its gaming console with several new features -- most notably, the ability for adults to restrict how long a child uses the system.Other new features include more personalization and improved image quality for games played on HDTVs.Adults can now keep track and control the length of PS4 playtime for children. PINE VALLEY, Calif. (KGTV) - A woman was taken into custody in East San Diego County on suspicion of smuggling methamphetamine with her 6-year-old son in her car, U.S. Border Patrol Agents said Wednesday. The arrest happened about 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Interstate 8 checkpoint in Pine Valley. Agents pulled over the 25-year-old woman who was driving a 1999 Ford Expedition. A K-9 alerted agents to the SUV’s rear door, where they found 65 bundles of crystal meth in the rear spare tire, officials said. The woman, a Mexican national, was arrested. Her son is now in the care of Child Protective Services. Agents said the drugs had a street value of 9,352. 666

People living in the Florida Panhandle are scrambling to prepare their homes and businesses for Hurricane Michael.The Category 2 storm is currently in the Gulf of Mexico, and it’s expected to gain strength as it makes landfall Wednesday.Officials ordered an evacuation by noon Tuesday in Pensacola Beach, but for those residents staying, they are spending the day preparing.Randall King lived through Hurricane Opal, a Category 3 storm that hit the coast in 1995. He says his Pensacola home took in about 6 feet of water during that devastating storm. That’s why he doesn’t take warnings lightly.“If you're that close to the cone of uncertainty, always be certain to be prepared,” he says. However, everyone didn’t spend the day preparing for the storm. A group of people were seen on the beach.“It’s not too bad right now,” says Abisai Avelar, a Pensacola resident. “Just for the thrill of it, for the experience. Couple guys wanted to come out. The K-12 school for high functioning students with autism just had an important gift taken away.It's an empty field right now but the plan was for Gateway Academy to remove all of the bushes and gravel to make room for a brand new adaptive playground. The cost of entire project would be picked up by a very generous donor."We thought we had found an angel who understood the population and who's ready to give generously," said Robin Sweet, the school's executive director. "Not so much."That donation, ,000. How much the school has seen of that money? Nothing."Before I signed the purchase order I called him again just to make sure," said Sweet.That donor backed out. Now the school is left with a massive bill, a playground that's sitting in storage on pallets and students who are disappointed."Guess what,  don't see anything out here," said Joseph, an eighth grader at Gateway.  "It's not just to have fun. It would really help us," said Joseph."It's instrumental in their well-being and mental and physical health and then to say, sorry - just kidding?" said Sweet.The school won't identify the donor but Sweet does have a message for the man.
