Sleep traits could be a risk factor for breast cancer, new research suggests. Women who said they preferred to get out of bed early were found to have a lower risk of breast cancer than those who stay up late.However, experts cautioned that other breast cancer risk factors such as alcohol consumption and being overweight have a greater impact than sleep and said there was no reason to change your sleep patterns.One out of 100 women who considered themselves morning people developed breast cancer, compared with two in 100 women who described themselves as evening people, according to the study, which was published Wednesday in the BMJ.The study also found that sleeping more than the average seven to eight hours per night was found to have a slightly increased risk of breast cancer. It also found there was little link with insomnia.Researchers used information from more than 400,000 women in two large data banks -- around 180,000 women from UK Biobank study and more than 220,000 women from the Breast Cancer Association Consortium study. Two weeks ago, the Iowa Democratic Party came under fire for a failed vote tabulation as results took several days to be compiled. The fiasco in Iowa was caused by a glitch in an app, and forced the state party chair to step down. Democrats are hopeful that technology does not fail them again. Nevada Democrats too are going to rely on technology. Precincts will each use an iPad with a Google Drive document used to report real-time numbers back to the party. Precinct chairs will also be asked to call the Democratic Party, and send a picture via text message of the paper tabulation that is signed off by representatives of the viable campaigns. How a caucus worksCaucuses are more akin to community events rather than a typical election. Rather than using a secret ballot, caucus goers will first hear from supporters of the candidates, representatives of the campaigns, or perhaps even from the candidate themselves.Then, those on hand will literally "take sides," and join with other supporters of that campaign. At the precinct, a determination is made of viable and non-viable candidates (generally 15% is the threshold).The supporters of non-viable candidates will then be given 15 minutes to join a viable campaign, or abstain. Once the 15 minutes are up, a tally is taken, and the Nevada Democratic Party releases the number of delegates won by each candidate, which is the most important figure of the day. This is Nevada after all. What is at stake on SaturdayFor Saturday's Nevada Caucuses, a total of 36 national delegates will be up for grabs. A person living in the neighborhood said his roommate’s sedan was set on fire Monday around 6 a.m.Fire crews say someone dragged a mattress to the car then set it on fire.Then on Oct. 17, crews were called out to another vehicle fire in an alley, where they found not one but two vehicles on fire.Las Vegas Fire and Rescue also responded to a laundry room fire on the same block between the two previous vehicle fires.With a total of four fires in the past two weeks, community members said they are on edge.Las Vegas Fire says the vehicle fires are being investigated as arson.Residents say they believe whoever is doing this is doing it on purpose, and has some stern words for whoever may be lighting the match. 1047
